Svadhaya can teach us to be non-reactive and non-grasping, and allow the process of letting things go a bit easier. It challenges us to look deeply into our essence and discern superficial ego from divine truth.

Svadhyaya,  wants us to get to know who we really are beneath the mind’s explanations.

Svadhyaya asks us not to shy away from doing the deep dive, and it offers us a practice to take our search to a whole new level.

Knowing ourself is the path to liberation.

Practicing svadhyaya is regarded as a niyama (positive or righteous duty).  This process of getting to know your psychic, emotional, and soul interior is central to the yogi path


When we get to know our small self – the self of our personality, our ego, and our identity – we learn the many habits, behaviors, and ways of relating to the world that have been conditioned by our experiences.

In order to transform, we need to get really intimate with these habits, behaviors, and perceptions so that we can identify where they’re ultimately not serving us. This awareness can bring great change, while also getting us in touch with our larger Soul Self, the Self that knows what’s best for our evolution.



Everyone’s talking about mindset these days. Mindset is that it’s based on self reflection and contemplation . If we truly sit down and reflect on our actions and habits, we can quickly find that they often don’t align to what our real goals in life are, or the person we truly want to become. 

Somewhere along the way we’ve just accepted this extra baggage that we often don’t remember signing up for. 

Happiness depends on your mindset and attitude. With the right mindset you can change your weaknesses to strengths. Limitations of MAYA exist only in small minds. The wave does not need to die to become water—it is already water



Examining our own conduct and accepting responsibility for the consequences allows us to move on from mistakes and chart new courses in our relationships. It helps us navigate.

Introspection is a gift in that it gives us complete freedom to determine our own future and our own success because we can choose to operate in our areas of strength while acknowledging our weaknesses and managing them.

Introspection without application of self-knowledge to bring about positive personal change is a wasted opportunity.

Regular introspection should also include reflecting on our successes. This promotes self-fulfillment, inner peace and positive energy.

Awareness of self can be a practical and applicable approach to many of the mysteries of life itself. It is a fine way to assess situations in order to make the wisest decisions. In loftier terms, to know yourself is to know the divine.

Contemplation is about thinking everything and meditation is about thinking nothing.  While contemplation is a train of thought about something, meditation is training the mind to rest in a particular focus that leads to a connection to the source of consciousness itself.


The ancient Vedic  Indian psychology has a  fourfold scale, which represents the degrees of the ladder of being by which man climbs back to the source, the absolute divine.

The change, from “here” to “there,”  is not an uneventful process at all.

There come dry periods, deviations, violent alterations, and temptations. If there are raptures and azure heavens, there are anaconda agonies and absolute abandonments, howling hot deserts and “dark cold nights of the soul” to go through.

Streaming tears of joy, horripilation (bristling of the hair), stigmata (bodily marks or pains), and parapsychological phenomena have been known to develop.

The first stage of meditation  achieves detachment from sensual desires and impure states of mind through analysis and reflection and thereby attains an emotional state of satisfaction and joy.

In the second stage, intellectual activities are abated to a complete inner serenity; the mind is in a state of “one-pointedness” or concentration, joy, and pleasantness.

In the third stage, every emotion, including joy, has disappeared, leaving the meditator indifferent to everything while remaining completely conscious.

The fourth stage is the abandoning of any sense of satisfaction, pain, or serenity because any inclination to a good or bad state of mind has disappeared. The meditator thus enters a state of supreme purity, indifference to everything, and pure consciousness.

Maya is the illusion of boundaries--the creation of a mind that has lost its cosmic perspective. People caught in the web Maya have lot of knowledge but little wisdom. They can see everything, but will miss the most important .

There were no bounds to the magical powers that can be attained by great Hindu ascetics and yogis  teaching the suppression of all activity of mind, body, and will in order that the self may realize its distinction from them and attain liberation. 

Prayer is NOT meditation. The former is a petition to  God, and the other is a detached observation of one's own mind, and its processes.

Meditation is done to purify the mind and gain insight.  It abstracts the self from conscious thought, and frees the mind from feelings that cause stress and suffering.   It fosters creative intelligence, raise consciousness, and enables fuller use to be made of mental potential.

The spiritual aims are peace of mind, wisdom, and, ultimately, a state of enlightenment or self-realization.  It is a  form of natural healing, and helps people cope with  anxiety, depression, and drug dependence.

The attention is focused on monitoring the breath, and noting thoughts crossing the mind, without any judgement or attempt at control, but as a silent and detached witness.  If the mind throws up distractions, the meditator returns to simply observing the breath each time the distraction happens.  

A relaxed and unhurried attitude is important, since slowing down and observing the mind to see how it works is central to the philosophy behind meditation.

Using the mantra technique, the meditator concentrates on a mantra  to banish intrusive thoughts and thus achieve progressively quieter levels of thinking until thought itself is transcended. The subtle vitalizing frequencies of mantras activate psychic energies and awaken our intuitive faculties.

During meditation thinking is separated from perceiving, so that the individual can stand apart from the emotional self.  The reason why people remain mired in negativity is because of the beliefs they have inherited over time. Beliefs are subconscious. 

We act in the way we do because we are not aware of our beliefs and the feelings that these beliefs generate. That is why it is important to obeserve yourself and look within. We can do it. That is why we are different from animals.

We can use our  conscious mind to observe ,to introspect and dip into the  subconscious where our beliefs are embedded , in order to eliminate it.  You can meditate to rewrite these negative programmes  that cause you misery.

To be a mystic or a seer is not the same thing as being a spectator on the fence.  Mysticism provides an escape from a life of uninspired existence. It magnifies man and gives him a hope and destiny to fulfill.

In the modern era the road to holiness necessarily passes through the world of action.


A Mystic who is not of supreme service to the Society -- AINT NO MYSTIC AT ALL.




Our actions reflect the distilled wisdom that we possess of the innermost self. Our personal philosophy is an activated way of living. A peaceful person delves the truest definition of the self by maintaining an attentive state of conscious awareness and ceases escaping from reality with mindless diversions.

Self-inquiry is the principal method to remove ignorance, increase self-awareness, and abide in a tranquil existence.  Introspection means becoming aware of my inner-world, especially as it reacts and responds to the outside world. 

With introspection, we can find solutions to our every day life challenges, because the answers are already within us.
Examination of our past is never time-wasting.  Reverberations from the past provide learning rubrics for living today.

We are the product of our past. We start each day where we left off the day before

Contemplative actions call for us to track the conscious mind at work rendering an accounting of our weaknesses and our strengths, folly and wisdom.

Self-reflection is a kind of self-judgment. The difference is just this – the former is positive and the latter is negative.


Regrets, seasoned with age were the things that denied you the peace of slumber - - that deep REM sleep that nourishes your soul--- not the restive, disquieting sleep of the disappointed and the damned.
Self-examination can be painful because being brutally honest requires us to acknowledge our faults, weakness, failures and shortcomings.

By chanting OM mantra  one’s attention is singularly focused on that word and all other thoughts fall away. One can then submit fully to the present moment and experience this pure consciousness within oneself free of the constructs of the mind.
As you observe and notice your habitual tendencies and patterns, it’s important to adopt an attitude of non-judgment.  When studying yourself it’s easy to succumb to a judgmental mindset: either chastising yourself or, conversely, patting yourself on the back. 

If that happens, that’s another tendency you can notice. Notice it, acknowledge it, and then come back to observing yourself with no judgment.

Until we deeply examine our thoughts, words, and behavior and align them with our highest integrity, it will be difficult to become the best we can be as human beings.  And it will be nearly impossible to pursue our spiritual growth.

Self-inquiry can be a moment to moment practice of self-observation.  It can range from simply watching the breath to noticing emotions arise during an argument.  

During  yoga practice, we include Svadhyaya in observing the responses of our body and the reactions of our mind.  In Svadhyaya, we study ourselves so that we may become more of who we truly are—our highest and greatest good within.

SWARA YOGA HAS THE ADVANCED FORM OF SVADHAYA INHERENT

Just as physicists have discovered that the deeper they examine sub-atomic particles, the more they see that the universe is composed of impulses of energy and information, the deeper we look into ourselves, the more we unearth the profound truth that we are one with all of consciousness.  

We are Spirit itself.  Study yourself, and you will find your Self ( soul ) within.


Self-reflection helps to understand yourself and your problems, starting from your weaknesses and your positive aspects. This practice not only makes you confident, but also a better individual
A perfect individual is one who has the precise knowledge of both their strengths and weaknesses. Self-contemplation boosts self-confidence. Once you start thinking about your weaknesses, you will automatically find an answer to deal with that. And once you have it, well, you are already on the path to victory.

Introspection alters you as a person – for the better.

Self-reflection helps you to pinpoint the things that make you happy and thus fills you with positivity. After a day out with a group of people, you can always introspect on whether it was a memory that you want to cherish or a not so important one that you would eventually discard.

Self-reflection makes you way more mature, and you start feeling calmer than ever even when things are spinning out of control. It helps you to focus and thus increases your work productivity significantly. 

You realise that not everything is your fault, even when the entire world is against you. And even when you’re wrong, introspection will give you the strength to accept and learn from it. To err is human after all.
Introspection lets us take better decisions as we learn from our mistakes. Experience teaches a lot – but just going through a situation is not what enlightens you or makes you very knowledgeable. 

Unless we learn to analyze and discern the magnanimity of an event, we will never change for the better.

Internal change is the real change in your life and the way that you view yourself. By contemplation you can  tap into the power of your subconscious mind.


Contemplation brings a sense of inner peace This inner feeling of peace and balance can go a long way in helping any person be more aware of who they are and more accepting of themselves.

By contemplation you are  able to recognize and eliminate bad habits and beliefs. It  helps you better understand what motivates you and what keeps you being you. In that you can also learn about the things that may get in your way and the bad habits that hold you down. You may be surprised to find this sense of awareness helps you kick those habits to the curb for good.

By contemplation  you will start to gain the strength and confidence you need internally to make positive changes in your life externally. You can control your journey in your life and feel empowered as you do it once you start to realize who it is that you really are.


By contemplation we examine our own internal thoughts and feelings and reflect on what they mean. The process can be focused on one’s currently ongoing mental experience or very recently past mental experiences.  We must carefully analyze the content of our own thoughts, in an unbiased a manner..
We have over 60,000 thoughts per day, over half of which are negative and over 92 % of which are just repeats from the day before  If you don’t make the time and effort to focus your mind in a positive direction, you won’t give yourself the opportunity to grow and develop.
Being present ( as defined in Bhagawd Gita ) is defined as:--
Paying full attention to what is going on right now
Staying in the moment
Observing what is, without criticism or judgment
Balanced concern for things exactly as they are
Accepting whatever experience we are having
Having an awake participation in ongoing life


You can’t cut out negativity until you are able to honestly identify negative traits as such.  A “bruised ego” can be a good thing as long as it helps you to “enhance your abilities in whatever you’re tackling” as well as to “shape your character” .

 The best outcome of self-reflection is, quite simply, learning to understand what you are great at and should be doing more of.  

 The idea is to find the SWEET SPOT in your life where you spend the majority of your time doing things that you are both really good at and that you really love doing.  It is about  discovering your own personal genius..

If your daily life is not contributing to your overall success, then ask yourself what’s holding you back. What are you afraid of ?  These things in life that hold you back often go by the term “Limiting Beliefs”, so-called because they are beliefs that can limit you from doing or achieving something.



Limiting beliefs usually take the form of small, seemingly insignificant statements that slip into our everyday speech, but with repetition they can become part of the identity that we create for ourselves, severely holding us back from achieving our goals and dreams.



For example, many people have an inherent, ever-repeated belief that they “cannot sing,” which may then hold hold back from ever taking singing lessons and exploring the possibility that they could learn to sing.

Strive to find a balance between the positive and negative thoughts within your self-reflection. When you reflect on past failures, don’t fall into a rut of negative self-talk; instead, make those “failures” a positive thing by learning lessons from them.

Reflection starts working against you when it prevents you from taking action

Contemplation can be thought of as a directed thinking practice, a way of thinking with greater boundaries and greater intention..

Contemplation of one’s own conduct, thoughts, desires, emotions is  one of the qualities of a great leader. 

Self-contemplation should become a regular activity – a habit. It requires quiet time with no distractions.

Good leaders are regularly introspective about their leadership role and focus on how they can make a positive difference within their organizations.

Writing to record thoughts and insights and to set goals during regular introspection will help drive positive change. Regular review of those notes and following up will give positive feedback and reinforcement of our efforts.
Contemplation leads to the recognition of samskaras (habit patterns) that shape our daily routines and fuel our desires.

In meditation, you are not thinking about anything in particular. You are not doing anything. You are not even resisting any thoughts which are coming to your mind.

During introspection, you are doing something (means trying to find out the plus and minus points related to the events). But in meditation, you are doing nothing.

This is how introspection and meditation different.

Meditation is a passive act of waiting for the divinity to unfold within us.

Meditation is taking your state of inner self in sync with the quiteness of mysteries of universe and making you rise above small thoughts of this life of ours.   We feel to be above sadness, joy, fear and getting to feel the fact of possessing undying soul but perishable body.
Introspection remains within scope of this world's systems and societal bindings.

When you’re introspective, you are judgemental.  But in meditation, you are said to become pure witness, purely non-judgmental. As if you are seeing your thoughts as some third person. You lose your identity and you don't judge.  You are simply a witness with no reactions, only awareness. 

Introspection is at conscious mind level and meditation go beyond to sub-unconscious level also. Your mind very small part is conscious mind and remaining is sub-unconscious. So meditation penetrates into this big chunk which introspection cannot. 

Introspection requires your mind to recall, analyze, etc.

Where as in Meditation you go beyond self, it doesn't require your mind.

Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

The more powerful and original a mind, the more it will incline towards the religion of solitude.
In order to understand the world, one has to turn away from it on occasion.

Verily, the only journey is the one within.

The most introspective of souls are often those that have been hurt the most.

 “To find out what is truly individual in ourselves, profound reflection is needed; and suddenly we realize how uncommonly difficult the discovery of individuality is.” ― C.G. Jung

Contemplation must be done with a sense of gratitude.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.

A man must find time for himself. Time is what we spend our lives with. If we are not careful we find others spending it for us. . . . 

It is necessary now and then for a man to go away by himself and experience SOLITUDE to sit on a rock on a mounatin to ask of himself, 'Who am I, and where have I been, and where am I going?' . . . If one is not careful, one allows diversions to take up one's time—the stuff of life.

 Stop trying to be less of who you are. Let this time in your life cut you open and drain all of the things that are holding you back.

It is when you lose sight of yourself, that you lose your way. To keep your truth in sight you must keep yourself in sight and the world to you should be a mirror to reflect to you your image; the world should be a mirror that you reflect upon.

Self-transformation commences with a period of self-questioning. Questions lead to more questions, bewilderment leads to new discoveries, and growing personal awareness leads to transformation in how a person lives. 

Purposeful modification of the self only commences with revising our mind’s internal functions. Revamped internal functions eventually alter how we view our external environment.

Your most important “want” should be the one you can control!  Self-reflection is a much kinder teacher than regret is. Prioritize yourself by making a habit of it. Self-reflection is an important stage to diagnose, develop and strengthen your creativity.

Darkness holds eternal sway over he who cannot first find the light within himself.  Let go of rejections and focus on self-reflection. For it is within that you will find the light you seek.

Life is fundamentally a mental state. We live in a dream world that we create. We ascribe the value quotient to our lives by making decisions that we score as either valid or invalid based upon our personal ethics and how we think and behave.

Engaging in meditative self-reflection and gaining increased control of inner experiences provides a person with a sense of control over fear and trembling and the chaos of life.

Life has a tendency to provide a person with what they need in order to grow. Our beliefs, what we value in life, provide the road map for the type of life that we experience. 

A period of personal unhappiness reveals that our values are misplaced and we are on the wrong path. Unless a person changes their values and ideas, they will continue to experience discontentment.


 The ego might resist change until a person’s level of discomfort becomes unbearable. A person can employ logic to overcome the ego’s defense mechanism and intentionally integrate needed revisions in a person’s obsolete or ineffective beliefs and behavior patterns.

The subtle sense that something is amiss in a person’s life can lead to a gradual or quick alteration in a person’s conscious thoughts and outlook on life. Resisting change can prolong unhappiness whereas implementing change can establish internal harmony and instate joy in a person’s life

Life presents innumerable possibilities for love, friendship, compassion, and self-fulfillment, but we must be willing to give in order to receive. Persistence, sacrifice, a quest for knowledge, along with acquaintance with our true self is essential in order to achieve our dreams. 

Panic, fear, worry, doubt, anger, and a negative attitude are the biggest impediments to self-realization. The most important battle we undertake in life is not with other people; rather it takes place in the human mind.

Every person interprets the silence that surrounds him or her. The eternal silence of the universe that we exist in is terrifying because it forces each of to ask what our purpose is, why are we here, and what should I do?

People undergo several sequential steps in maturing from infancy including childhood, adolescences, young adulthood, middle age, and old age. Each stage presents distinct challenges that require a person to amend how they think and act.

The motive for seeking significant change in a person’s manner of perceiving the world and behaving vary. Alteration of person’s mindset can commence with a growing sense of awareness that a person is dissatisfied with an aspect of his or her life, which cause a person consciously to consider amending their lifestyle.

SANATANA DHARMA ALLOWS 4 ASHRAMAS.   EACH ALLOWS ITS OWN MINDSET.

In the Hindu system four stages of life have been prescribed: brahmacharya (celibacy-student), grihastha (family life- procreation ), vanaprastha ( solitude),  sanyas ( renunciation )


Any changes of a person’s mutable character commences with an extensive course of self-evaluation.  Personal evolution is a product of the independent choices we make.  

 Progress in the development of oneself depends upon how honestly a person judges oneself, and what corrections a person makes to align their character with an ideal version of a self.

We do not know the truth of a living thing’s existence until we discern its entire history from development to demise.

There is no pre-mapped intellectual topology path leading to truth. Truth is a process of conducting a searching investigatory dialogue with oneself in an attempt to examine and discern the contents of a person’s own mind. Every person must ask himself or herself what is essential in life.

Reflecting on various aspects of our lives is essential for a person to grow and adjust to changing phases in life. Self-analysis entails examining a person’s existing level of self-esteem and documenting the inner voice that speaks to a person, which is frequently either affirming of self-defeating

Failure to periodically engage in self-analysis, make crucial revisions in our personas, and modify our thinking patterns when we encounter transformative events in life can lead to mood disorders, burnout, and other emotional maladies

Each one of us has to make our own decisions based on the inner-strength and understanding we have developed. No matter how much an answer is provided ready-made and pre-designed by others, it will only have a real impact in our lives if we live it, embrace it and make it our own. The process of introspection helps us with that.

Introspection helps us in our everyday life, with solutions for relationships and work and our community. But that's only the beginning. That's still working on the external level - meaning the physical world that we live in that includes people, places, situations, relationships, objects, environment, events and processes of change in nature, and so on. We are just playing in the world of external physical things.

Beyond the external, physical world, there's an entire universe within our inner-world that remains for us to explore. It is full of high potentiality for us as human beings evolving at this time in our history. Within this inner-world lies not only the answers to our current "problems" but also immense transcendental treasures

One who practices daily introspection and self-analysis can discover his defects and habits and remove them. This is very patient work. Through introspection, an aspirant gains knowledge of the laws and ways of the mind and can easily check its wanderings and manage it perfectly. 

During introspection, the rapid shifting of the mind from one line of thought to another can be clearly observed.

Introspection is thus a stepping stone to a deeper meditative experience

Herein lays a chance to mould the mind properly and direct the thoughts and mental energy into the divine channel. Throw out worldly and useless thoughts, and do not allow the intruders of anger, greed, delusion and pride to enter the mental factory. 

This is a stupendous task indeed, but success is sure with daily introspection. The practice demands patience, perseverance, tenacity, iron will, a subtle intellect and courage. Concentration can be practiced uninterruptedly. 

The reward is invaluable. It is immortality, supreme peace and infinite bliss.  Man’s  innermost essence is the Atma or divine spirit. Man is not this body, not his senses or even his mind; these are only his vehicles. 

The body and mind are subject to change, decay and death, whereas the real man, the immortal Self ( soul ) , is never-ending and eternal. Only a calm mind can grasp the Truth, see the immortal Self and receive the divine light.
The mind has the power to reflect, to look into its own depths. . If you go above body consciousness and if the mind rests in the Self, then you are happy, peaceful and free.

When, by analyzing your own mind, you come face to face with something which is by its own nature eternally pure, perfect, self-luminous and unchanging; you will no longer be miserable or unhappy. 

One essence only exists, which is infinite, spotless, ever pure and completely full. Contemplate upon it and be free from all pain with true calmness of mind.

Become the silent witness enter into silence now in solitude.. Watch the mind carefully. Be patient. Do not identify with the restless, unbalanced mind. Be a sakshi or a silent witness. 

When there is indifference towards all enjoyments and when the powerful indriyas or senses are turned inwards and the ajnana or ignorance of the mind is destroyed, only then will all the noble words of the wise men infiltrate the disciple’s mind.

It is the modifications of the mind, the vrittis that bind one to objects. Be a silent witness to the activities of the mind, and there will no longer be bondage. Be the seer of the mind’s dramatic performances and not involved with the mind itself.


If there is no ego identification, you will not feel any pain. This can come only when you become the witness, when there is identification with the Absolute. Through introspection and contemplation, separate yourself from the thought waves and the fourfold mind.

Self-observation is about how you run your psychological machinery; “What’s going on? What’s behind that? What else can I learn about this?” This enquiry must be undertaken with the commitment to accept whatever you learn about yourself; to quote a maxim. “The truth will set you free.”

Self-awareness is a necessary precondition for making the right decisions and developing as a leader. 

Without self-awareness-------

• You don’t know your blind spots.

• You don’t know when and how your emotions are distorting your thinking.

• You don’t know what you know and what you don’t know, so you can’t count on yourself to seek necessary additional information.

• You don’t have an accurate sense of your personal strengths and weaknesses.

• You can’t accurately assess social cues so you don’t know how your speech or behavior is impacting others.

• You can’t judge the effectiveness of your communications.


• You can’t practice the essential function of self-regulation.


• You can’t develop as a leader because you don’t know where you need to go.

It’s not easy, as our minds enjoy constant, varied stimulation and naturally seek distraction. Through practice, however, we can train our minds to be more still.

When we are able to remain focused, we are calmer, clearer-headed and better able to direct our attention to that which we want to do. It makes it easier to see the path ahead more clearly and problem solve. Contemplation helps with knowing where you need to go and how to get there.

Contemplation helps us to understand the nature of our minds. This means that rather than being permanently entangled in the web of our thoughts, we learn how to master it. We begin to appreciate the fact that we are not our thoughts and, over time, these thoughts lose their power over us.

When we do this, we recognize that our ego is a mere construct of our thoughts, not the epitome of who we are on the deepest level. Understanding this brings real freedom.

Without contemplative activities, it is too easy to become locked in a prison of thought, mindlessly carrying out actions without any real awareness of the purpose, meaning or value of our lives..

Contemplation frees you from this automated existence. It helps you to find an awareness and expansiveness that permeates through and beyond all that you think and do.

When you contemplate, you connect with the part of yourself that is deeper than the active mind, deeper than thought and deeper than ego. 

 In doing so, you experience the truth of your connected-ness with the universe, those around you and everything in existence. This realization of truth is experienced rather than learned about.

It is the ultimate value of contemplation. It is why it matters little what type of contemplative activity you engage in: Ultimately, the realization of your true Self will be the same, whatever path you take to get there. Experiencing this gives you access to inner peace, contentedness and freedom.

All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit in solitude and contemplate .  We often become so swept up by our dreams, ambitions and regrets that we lose the ability for quiet reflection. 

And while there are times when we need to be productive and driven, there are also times when we need to connect with our inner self and be aware of what is happening in the here and now.

Self-reflection meditation gives us insight into our thoughts and aspirations. The more thorough the process of self-reflection, the better we recognize our thoughts, feelings, values and beliefs for what they really are.

Developing a mindful brain helps us remain grounded in the present moment. Our interest in distractions and sensual pleasures naturally wanes when we’ve discovered the fullness and freedom of now.

Self-reflection prompts some individuals to question their entire belief system. It also allows them to reevaluate their principles and core values in a non-judgmental manner. Every person has a preset value system that serves them as a guide through life.

However, people don’t always keep to the script – sometimes they veer off course and go astray. That’s why self-reflection is so important. It gives people the chance to look back and identify the areas where they’ve blossomed and the places where they’ve deviated.

Retrospection means to recall any incident, action or thought that is bygone or past. Or rather its a reconsideration of something that happened in the past. the action of looking back on or reviewing past events or situations, especially those in one's own life.

Introspection is analyzing or examining your feelings, actions or thoughts. You think deep about what might have caused what.

Retrospection is merely recalling a past event. The event could be a happy or a sad one. There is not much analysis here, but just the unfolding of events as they happened.

Introspection is knowing yourself. Knowing you've done, or what were faults with it, how can you improve yourself. How did you respond to activities in your past life, it is literally examining or observing your mental and emotional self.

Retrospection is looking back to your past life, and not doing anything about it.

So his friend gave the blind man a bamboo lantern — it had a big candle inside. Off went the blind man and, before he had gone too far, a traveler bumped into him.

The blind man was furious. “Why don’t you look out?” — he stormed. “Haven’t you seen the lantern?”

“Lantern? Well, the candle is OUT!”— replied the traveler.

Introspection is like a lantern — it might provide light, but it doesn’t guarantee seeing.

The blind man didn’t need any light. However, once he depended on it, he became careless and stopped being aware. The old man literally bumped into a stranger.

Being obsessed with self-improvement can have the same effect. The introspection mode — continually examining your thoughts and feelings — can get you stuck. Rather than becoming more self-aware, you lose touch with yourself (and others).

Again--- Introspection involves thinking, categorizing, labeling, analyzing — you are evaluating your thoughts and emotions. Meditation is about being aware of what you are doing and just observing — you contemplate your thoughts without judging them.
Mindfulness is the practice of noticing the degree in which we are identified with our thoughts and beliefs. 

It’s creating space for:---

Awareness, not thinking
An attitude of openness and curiosity, not judging
Flexibility of attention, not resisting
When you fall into the introspection trap, you become careless as it happened to the blind man. By becoming dependent on the lamp, you lose touch with yourself.

Perfectionism is the enemy of change. When your standard is too high, nothing you think or do will be enough. Instead of helping you uncover insights, introspection feeds your judgmental mind.

Constantly trying to over-perform triggers the fear of making mistakes and underperform. Reflect to improve, not to become perfect.

Self-awareness requires observing and accepting who you are — not who you should or shouldn’t be. Acceptance is embracing every part of your ‘self’, not just the nice ones. 

Focusing too much on yourself is a trap. You stop noticing others as it happened to the old man. He wanted the lamp to make him visible to others but forgot that people don’t see in us what we expect.

With the aspect of Svadhyaya, self-study we learn to look insight instead of outside of ourselves.

The path to self-realization is also through introspection and contemplation of our own life’s lessons. Introspecting about our emotions, thoughts, actions, and reactions helps us to learn about our own self and our true nature. 

When we reflect on our flaws and allow our mistakes to serve as learning lessons, we have the opportunity to grow.

      Krishna told Arjuna "Your city has been constructed by Vishwakarma and is truly beautiful. However, the Indraprastha palace is much too plain for such a wonderful city. Let a palatial meeting hall be constructed for Yudhishtra the just. Maya Danava is the best person to construct it, being the architect of the Asuras."

A few days ago, you were saying that there will be no rains in Kerala (which turned out to be true).......IMD was scaremongering that there will be very heavy rains once again in Kerala (which never happened) !

      India's strength is in its numbers, population. If 100 cr indians decide to donate 100 rs each...total becomes 10000 cr...if a family of 5 or 10 persons donate the 100 rs per head...total load on the family is maximum 1000 Rs.and i think 100 cr population can afford 100 Rs very easily. Even poor people can handle.

      What we are not able to handle is our karma. If We indians are not united for such important cause and donate 100 rs per head...when we will unite.

      If the collective will of "we the people" cannot unite and donate for rebuilding kerala...there can be no bigger shame than this.

      The collective will of "we the people" is is dead. Bonding is dead.

      If 100 cr indians donate Rs 1000 per head...there can be 100000 cr.

      With that money we can rebuild the houses and other damages again.

      Thus act will uplift the collective spirit of this country.....

      But it seems we are dead...

      Natural calamity in our country is only news for most of the countrymen.

      Collectively We indians are senseless, shameless, cunning, selfish, ingrate people.
      Lord Kalki has noted this.

      We are so shameless that we only criticise that kerala beef devastation...etc...etc...

      People think its ok to pass comments...and same people dont think that donation too is an ok thing.

      Criticise (who can stop) but donate (to prove that we have sense)

      Yesterday one my north indian friend said every year there is flood in his area....when i asked why every time you build the same home.....? He got the point and become mum.

      We are ingreate and selfish people .....we all are destined to perish.

      We have become baniya...we ask stupid questions...how much kerala govt donated to other states....

      We forget that we are not donating for kerala govt but for the kerala people.

      One friend argued on beef...

      But kept mum when i asked to donate personaly to non beef eating person. And if he has no contact, i have.

      My point is ....

      Let hindus who hate others donate to only hindus
      Let muslims donate to only muslims
      Let christians donate to christians....
      There is no harm when indians support indians in creative way.

      Do party politics, castism, religion based section based selective support....but support.

      1000 cr wala 10 cr de sakta hai to 100000 wala bhi to 1000 de sakta hai...

      I can understand Jaggi living in a fool's paradise. But Swamy has tweeted PGurus article on UAE 700 crore as hoax. Leaving aside beef eating, sabarimala and other crazy links to floods, why aren't they getting scientific? Media as usual sticking only to humanitarian issue only, and now they will probably do cunning dam politics and money tangling angles. They dare not bring in El Nino and La Nina because of fracking, shale gas, and US/ Big Brother worries. Swamy also retweeted his daughters tweet reminding US ambassadors threat that India not open enough so they have 300,000 H1B visa workers over there. My question is when will media become open enough and discuss real, relevant threats instead of elevating street level stuff to code red. I mean if I was wearing suit-boot and sitting in a/c media rooms, I would probably be thinking about doing justice to these superior, global scale production values at least.

      When I checked twitter with #coconutoil

      What I have found, hundreds of comments being post against that professor and in support of coconut oil

      What I saw was more than 70% tweet were posted by foreigners ( white man ) in support of coconut oil and only 30-40% Indians

      Foreigner are now more getting knowledge about India than Indians

      I have not seen kalki effect but I m feeling vadakayil effect

      White people are now attracting towards India and it's cultute

      I am feeling that the recent Kerala floods were caused by deliberate opening of Dam reservoirs without any proper warnings and risk assessments and also of the strengthening of EL Nino as you had mentioned. The reason is that Kosher tools like Sunny Leone, Nowhera Shaik etc have donated to the Relief efforts. Also, I think the disaster had all the recipes of a planned disaster as it can be observed. Hence, I feel that the donations coming from foreign lands should be carefully monitored. For instance, the below ews report suggests that UAE authorities have not officially declared any amount:-

      Captain, how did Vernacular-Bhajans get the Qawwali-style singing-format ? If you observe in Qawwali, they start a song slowly but as the song progresses, they sing faster and faster (a crescendo) where they suddenly stop at the peak ! I have observed that Hindus do the same thing in temples/prayer-meets, etc when singing Vernacular-Bhajans (this is not at all possible with Sanskrit-Mantras).

      Until now, mobile broadband networks have been designed to meet the needs of people. But 5G has been created with machines’ needs in mind, offering low-latency, high-efficiency data transfer

      It achieves this by breaking data down into smaller packages, allowing for faster transmission times. Whereas 4G has a fifty-millisecond delay, 5G data transfer will offer a mere one-millisecond delay–it will permit machines to achieve near-seamless communication.

      The idea behind 5G is to use untapped bandwidth of the extremely high-frequency millimeter wave (MMW), between 30GHz and 300GHz, in addition to some lower and mid-range frequencies.

      High-frequency MMWs travel a short distance. Furthermore, they don’t travel well through buildings and tend to be absorbed by rain and plants, leading to signal interference

      This would likely result in wireless antennas every few feet..with each emitting bursts of radiofrequency radiation (RFR)..

      If we could see the RFR, it would look like a smog that’s everywhere, all the time. They will permeate the Blood Brain Barrier, disrupt cell metabolism, rupture DNA strands, cause oxidative damage etc.

      The new 5G technology utilizes higher-frequency MMW bands, which give off the same dose of radiation as airport scanners.

      Over ninety percent of microwave radiation is absorbed by the epidermis and dermis layers, so human skin basically acts as an absorbing sponge for microwave radiation.         Captain sir I read all the implications of this 5G and how we all will be the SUBJECT ZERO for all this technology.

        No Government is ready to test this 5G radiation levels & effects on Humans health, before implementing it straight away.
        It just feels so sad to live in so dumb society driven by corporate 2 bit profits over threatening health of billions of people.

        Moreover Captain, many military veteran whistleblowers have pointed about the dangers of tech like even WiFi on the reproductive eggs of the young girls who unsuspectingly are affected when they linger around the WiFi range. Militaries conducted these microwave attacks on enemies as testing in as old as 1951.

        If a widespread tech like WiFi is so dangerous, leave alone 5G and all!!!!

        In future we humans will have to face dangerous diseases if we don't pay attention & use our brains to question everything.

        I even don't use Microwave oven in my home or encourage my relatives to do the same. I use A2 cow Gir (Gujarat Cow breed) Milk & promote it, likewise use Virgin coconut oil in cooking, copper vessels for deinkidr water, etc.

      Captain, I have been going through Russian-forums, news-websites & their detailed-TV-shows-&-documentaries (by their own TV channels) on youtube. The people in comments/forums/etc. frequently mention how India has turned coat and now is heading at full-speed to the West, trying to curry favour with them. They ridicule by saying that India is making "new-friends" with the same people who tried to annihilate it in the past (1971 war) while ditching the same people who helped-&-saved them in the past. Also, they point out how the Indian-establishment (who work jointly with Russia in defence) is incompetent in many cases (good in some other though), yet demand full access to secret technology & complain that Russian-establishment doesn't give them enough respect (read ego-massage).

      The common rebuttal used is --- "India expects Russia to transfer full technology. But they are ready to buy equipment from West who don't even transfer technology to make a screwdriver.".......Another common point of anger they express is --- "India wants FULL technology from Russia. How can any country give away their FULL secret technologies just like that ? So that these people give access to USA, France & Israel to see what we are capable of ? We gave technology to Chinese who stole it and now use it to compete with us, won't India do the same ?"..........There is an increasing number of people (commoners & high-profile in media) who openly express that Russia must develop ties with Pakistan & Bangladesh to counter what they call "Indian-Arrogance". One good thing I must mention is that, when they get angry, they scold Indians by calling them "Hindus", unlike West who call all brown-people "Pakis". Their frequent complains are of Indian-Govt agencies demanding full technology while contributing nothing in return to the development of the project.

      The most significant thing I got to know is, Russia keeps a very high standard for it's own equipment and they charge Double of the cost for export-version ! Cost of a MiG can be $15-million, sold to Russian-AF for (approx) $17-million, but they sell to other countries at a price of $30-million ! Russian-military specifications are usually DOUBLE of what their export versions are capable of ! For example, if an export-grade Russian jet-engine has a life of 500-hours, Russia uses for itself engines with life of 800-1000 hours ! Same case for Radars (Export=200km range, Russian=400km range) and many more ! They proved this point by showing that they fired a missile into Syria (declared range=500km) from a ship located 2000km away in the Mediterranean !!!

      Russia is not what it seems to be ! It is a powerful-Bear-in-the-woods while India is a Babe-in-the-woods ! No wonder NOBODY messes with Russia ! China has made very very good friendship with Russia, so India can forget Russian support in any India-vs-China situation !

      Captain, Russia maintains a very strong capability in the very-cold regions of Siberia and Arctic. India must partner with Russians in a mutual-exchange training program so that both-sides benefit.

      India can learn hardcore Cold-Weather operations-&-warfare from Russia (Kashmir & Siachen is nothing infront of Siberia & Arctic).......in exchange we can teach Russians operations-&-warfare of the Desert & Tropical regions (High-Heat, High-Humidity).

      Russia is incredible in cold-weather operations ! They operate a HUGE fleet of icebreakers to keep shipping-lanes open in the northern-seas ! Their land-&-air forces can easily deal with -30 degree celsius weather conditions, blizzards, thick-ice-&-snow !
