In Indian yoga, intuition is the single greatest tool to finding happiness . "Intuition is soul guidance or the inner voice " wrote the great master Yogananda Paramahamsa.

Intuition helps you stay in the present, like what is advocated in the Bhagavat Gita.

It has little to do with predicting the future. . Playfulness and relaxation usually stimulate the intuitive process. All the human senses are channels for intuition and every cell can be an antenna to receive information

Intuition is a gift of crisis--- It tells you the right thing to do when you don't have time to figure it all out.

Intuits are able to see possibilities and alternatives that aren’t immediately apparent. Your inner knowing comes from first your instincts, second your intellect, and third from your intuition.

Intuition is not pseudo-science . It is an essential psychological function like thinking, feeling and sensing. The divining power of intuition comes from our inner self. It arises from very rapid processing of bits of information that are stored in our subconscious. Intuition thinks in terms of metaphor, feelings, pictures, and the spatial whole and doesn't fit neatly into the cause-and-effect model.

It is about trusting your own integrity - trusting your gut, trusting your heart.. . Your intuition will not force you to do things that are truly wrong for yourself or other people in contradiction with the laws of the universe. Intuition is listening to the inner voice or heeding the promptings from within.

Intuition is a ability to cut through the thickness of surface reality . Intuition and confidence go hand in hand. Your sub-conscious which operates a dozen times faster than your conscious mind has picked up on signals that your conscious mind has not yet processed. We function through partial information, and intuition gives us an overview, a whole sense of things. Intuition acts like a bridge between your logical reasoning and the sum total of your experience-based knowledge.

Intuition is a knowing, a sensing that is beyond the conscious understanding — a gut feeling-- flashes of spontaneous thought that are done apparently without relating to facts or logic. Intuition is fast, based on pattern matching.

The divining power of intuition comes from our inner self-- very rapid processing of bits of information that are stored in our subconscious. We cannot command our gut feeling to use it at will. It just surfaces spontaneously when certain circumstances are present. Intuitive insights suddenly appear as ideas or feelings.

Intuition is now an EQ competency. It’s considered something necessary to successful living, and something to be respected and valued. Intuitive decisions are NOT guesswork . Intuition has an important role to play in decision making . Intuition is not limited to opinions but can encompass the ability to know valid solutions to problems.

Intuition usually shows up in the areas where you have passion and talent. By logic that we prove, by intuition we discover. Intuition is a sudden and inexplicable knowing. It lies at the roots of spontaneity, humor, creativity, inspiration, and even genius.

Intuition has its own unique language for communicating with you through touch, sight, taste, sound, and smell. As you pay attention to your senses, you’ll begin to understand the “vocabulary” of your intuition.

Mental static and ego can get in the way of tapping into intuition. Intuition bubbles up from within and can be overwhelmed by old mental or emotional "tapes" . Intuition gone wild becomes “jumping to conclusions”. By going too far out on a limb , you risk misinterpreting the situation and start harming others. Intuition should not be overused.

Your brain is a complex tapestry of interacting neurons, all working together to provide you with insights that guide you through life. It’s complicated. So complicated that your conscious brain cannot keep up with everything it’s trying to tell you.

So what exactly is intuition? It is the messages from your unconscious mind making contact with your consciousness. . The uncanny ability to detect patterns in the world around us, and to extrapolate larger truths . Use it always, never ignore it.

Our instincts and intuition are more reliable in a decision making, than our conscious brain. . By listening to what our heart and soul tells us to do - and then doing it - we can take ourselves anywhere we have ever dreamed of going.

Your consciousness only uses a tiny proportion of your brainpower and your intuition accesses the residual power and communicates to your consciousness the bank of wisdom and knowledge it has available. This is done subtly through thoughts, feelings, sensations, images, sounds or any combination of them. Just as animals have a natural survival instinct so humans are born with the natural ability to be intuitive; your human instinct.

Traits often found in those with high intuitive intelligence include-- an awareness of one's personal value system, a healthy awareness of one's own feelings, an ability for self-direction and self-management, a powerful level of self-trust, a desire for innovation, a refined knowledge of one's strengths and weaknesses, and a high degree of self-regard and freedom.

"The only real valuable thing is intuition." -- Albert Einstein.

Never ignore the inner spark , the gut feeling, the sixth sense or hunch that ignites vision and leads you to success. Intuitive insights motivate us to grow closer to the creative source, thereby igniting our own creative spark and expression, which is the essence of our true self. When you feel excited about something, that's a hint about what to pursue.

Decisions are made in the mind—choices are made in the gut.  Choices come from your essence and attunement to your higher self.

Now -- having said all above, here is an amazing anatomy lesson. War victims have had their neural connection between spine and gut severed, still the bowel can function. This follows that the neural mass in the gut is an independent cognitive centre. This explains when as a Captain , I chew up a crew member  for letting down the team, he gets severe intestinal gut cramps. And why anti-depressants targetting the brain solely, causes nausea. This means the brain and the gut are like Siamese twins. When one gets upset, the other one gets upset too. Half the nerve cells are situated in the gut. When i have a headache i target my gut by having an alkaseltzer, and it have never failed to work 100%. If your gut is unhealthy, your immunity lowers.

Both our gut and our brain originate early in embryo genesis from the same clump of tissue which divides during fetal development.

While one section turns into the central nervous system, another piece migrates to become the enteric nervous system. Later the two nervous systems connect via a cable called the vagus nerve — the longest of all the cranial nerves . The vagus nerve meanders from the brain stem through the neck and finally ends up in the abdomen. There’s the brain-gut connection. This means your psychological health, is partly derived from the heathy gut. When you have severe dysentry , have you noticed how depressed you feel?

Develop an intuitive life. This is not a tool-- it is a god given way of living.

Grace and peace!

  2. Sir, your blogs are path-breaking . I enjoy them a lot...very enriching....thanks

  3. Hi,

Reading your blogs on Mind, Subconciousness etc helps me find peace.

I want to ask what are your thoughts on Buddhism, Dalai Lama & Chinese controlling the Tibet?

  4. hi peace,

buddha was born in 1900 BC.

the white christian shoved forward in time, so that their version of big bang in 4004 BC holds water.

buddha was a Hindu of Gautama gotra.

he was a seer and a sage. in those days, vedas and knowledge was in the hands of brahmins alone.

buddha made this knowledge available in vernacular language. he mirrored hinduism. his left handed swastika is lifted from the right handed swastika of hinduism.

later many such mortals ( messiahs and prophets ) followed who are now worshipped as gods.

tibet is an by ethnicity a separate nation. this nation's civilization is older than china.

mount kailash is indian, but now we need a chinese visa to visit this abode of Shiva and Lake Manasarovar.

Dalai Lama's fled from Tibet in 1959. The government of India accepted the Tibetan refugees.

India designated land for the refugees in the mountainous region of Dharamsala, India, where the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile are now based.

Dalai Lama, has abandoned his longstanding position calling for Tibetans to rule their homeland , declaring Tibet to be within the tradition of China in 2005.

He said Tibet was underdeveloped and materially backward. "So, for our own interest, we are willing to be part of the People's Republic of China, to have it govern and guarantee to preserve our Tibetan culture, spirituality and our environment.

Tibet never managed to have self rule, in middle and modern times , except during the period between 1920s to 1949 when China itself was in turmoil due to the Japanese invasion of China.

  5. Dear Ajitji,

    I am a little confused.

"tibet is an by ethnicity a separate nation. this nation's civilization is older than china."

"mount kailash is indian, but now we need a chinese visa to visit this abode of Shiva and Lake Manasarovar."

How can Mount Kailash be Indian if Tibet was always a seperate nation?

    1. hi prachi,

tibet was part of india in ancient times .

The Tibet Autonomous Region is a province-level entity of the People's Republic of China.

It is governed by a People's Government, led by a Chairman.

In practice, however, the Chairman is subordinate to the branch secretary of the Communist Party of China.

As a matter of convention, the Chairman has almost always been an ethnic Tibetan, while the party secretary has almost always been a non-Tibetan.

  6. Cpt. U say buddha was a mortal n must not be a part of Dashavtar but in many museums like of indore, bhopal (my home town) n even ujjain i have statues of dashavtar in which buddha was also depicted n even they were c-14 dated n result much prior than d arrival of bloody brits. Still i m convinced by one of ur fact that he was a mere mortal..

    1. hi u,

if that is the case then those carbon dating tests are FAKE.

buddha is NOT the 9th avatar.

he was an opportunistic mortal who mirrored hinduism and today he is GOD.

      capt ajit vadakayil

    2. hi u,

next time you see the dashavatar check out for the SRIVATSA symbol on the chest of the 9th avatar.

Srivatsa is also another name of Vishnu and is mentioned in the Vishnu Sahasranam.

It is a mark on the chest of Vishnu where His consort Sri Lakshmi resides.

The 10th avatar of Vishnu, Kalki will be bearer of the DIAMOND SHAPED Srivatsa mark on his chest.

if the mark is on the 9th avatar of the statue it alludes to MAHAVIRA -- and NOT buddha.

    1. hi s,

Your problem requires a second opinion from an expert ( HEPATOLOGIST ) attached to a big hospital.

Liver disease is usually only painful if it stretches the capsule of the liver.

Fatty liver usually occurs when your drink too much. My Russian officers who drink Vodka when they come to India always stock a lot of these liver supplements. In fact all of them must compulsorily have liver tests become they come on board a ship.

Hepatitis C can cause your problem.

An overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine and other changes in the intestine may be associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease if you are NOT too fat. Avoid milk and milk products.

Become a vegetarian and stop drinking alcohol ( if you do so ) till your problem subsides.

Avoid too much of sugar and fat. Have isabgol fibre before you go to sleep. Take long walks. Eat peanuts and spinach.

You problem might be with your gall bladder . You do not need a gallbladder to digest food. Bile still flows from the liver to the gut once the gallbladder is removed.

However, there is no longer any storage area for bile between meals. The flow of bile is therefore constant, without the surges of bile that occur from a gallbladder when you eat a meal.

Bile helps to digest food, particularly fatty foods. Gallstones occur when bile, which is normally fluid, forms stones.

Gallstones commonly contain lumps of cholesterol-like (fatty) material that has solidified and hardened. Sometimes bile pigments or calcium deposits form gallstones.

A HEPATOLOGIST is the most experienced and qualified type of doctor to treat people with liver disease. There are specialized training programs for doctors who are focused solely on liver disease, - known hepatology fellowships and typically last from one to two years.

A GASTROENTEROLOGIST is an internist who has completed specialty training in the treatment of digestive disorders. Digestive disorders include disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, pancreas, gallbladder, and liver.

never ask you ear to taste-- or eye to smell.
