THE THIN RED LINE, MOVIE REVIEW , TRANSCENDENCE , SAMYAMA - CAPT AJIT VADAKAYIL

IF ANY BODY ON THIS PLANET CAN WRITE A BETTER REVIEW THAN THIS—I WILL STOP BLOGGING.

THE THIN RED LINE DIRECTED BY GENIUS TERENCE MALICK IS THE GREATEST WAR MOVIE EVER MADE.

THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT TRANSCENDENCE .   IT IS BEYOND THE SHALLOW WESTERN MIND..

IT IS BEYOND THE CEREBRAL CAPABILITIES OF HALF WIT WESTERN MOVIE CRITICS..  WHO  NEED THE USUAL MUNDANE SHIT FROM KOSHER MONOPOLIZED HOLLYWOOD

THIS MOVIE DID NOT WIN A SINGLE OSCAR.

OSCARS WERE SABOTAGED BY TOP  EGO LADEN KOSHER STARS WHOSE ROLES WERE CUT AND DROPPED OF THE FLOOR OF THE EDITING ROOM.

The most noticeable aspect of "The Thin Red Line" is extensive use of voiceover to reveal the thoughts and motivations of the various characters —  NO, it was not a crutch—rather it gave wings .

Someone asked me --

Why do you praise the movie THE THIN RED LINE which also has Hans Zimmer giving the music score .

You have criticized Hans Zimmer in Christopher Nolan's movie DUNKIRK and even gone to the extent of saying they should stop their partnership

http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2017/07/dunkirk-christopher-nolan-2017-movie.html

THE THIN RED LINE IS POETRY ON SCREEN .

NOT A SINGLE WESTERN CRITIC ( THOUSANDS OF THEM ) HAD THE BRAINS TO APPRECIATE HOW DIRECTOR TERENCE MALICK DELVED IN THE HUMAN PSYCHE

I may post a review on THE THIN RED LINE -- only because halfwits have judged this classic masterpiece.

It did NOT get a single 1999 Oscar award..despite 11 nominations (including the score)

The first man Terence Malick hired for his movie was Hans Zimmer to write the music 9 months before the movie was actually shot which is a strange way of scoring a film.

Traditionally, music composers watch the footage first and score to picture.

Hans Zimmer did NOT like this-- playing second fiddle to the director of the movie.

Director Terrence Malick, made three movies already and all of them are seen as masterpieces-- he came back after a hiatus of 2 decades

Ego laden Zimmer started having heated conversations with Malick about trivial musical minutia that boiled over into huge arguments

Zimmer used to being treated like ZE cat's whiskers complained that nothing survived the final cut and this was his hardest assignment ever. Zimmer wrote music for 9 months straight and it all culminated in a WEE 59 minute long album.

Hans Zimmer became so stressed – nay -- neurotic about the experience that movie editor Billy Weber banned him from the dub stage.

Terence Malick movies are poetry in motion— he is an art director. This was the only time Malick worked with composer Hans Zimmer— and they parted ways .

Zimmer said that this is the hardest assignment he has ever done--especially when his music was put to LOW volume

Zimmer had a point.

Malick asked Zimmer to minimalize the amount of electronic instruments used in the score and resort mostly to a live ensemble.

Devoid of the context and his usual “play to the gallery” tricks, Hans Zimmer had to find a new language to live up to the very hard task.

BUT-- LET ME SAY THIS-- HANS ZIMMER DESERVED THE OSCAR FOR HIS SCORE

Lack of the film's context made Zimmer create an abstract work, without clear references to the film's reality, which let him concentrate on its philosophical message--and this was what genius Malick wanted

The film got mixed reviews.

The movie could not be appreciated by pea brained critics who write in flowery English—but that is where it ends –they do not understand the artistic nuances

For an intelligent critic ,The Thin Red Line goes beyond mundane --breaks the art barrier and becomes a philosophical treatise.

The filmmaking process was conformed to the music. This makes Zimmer's score the subject of the movie.

Zimmer's huge German ego did NOT allow him to understand this truth.

THE FILM IS FULL OF PRICELESS MONOLOGUES -- AND HIGH VOLUME OF ZIMMERs SCORE ( EVEN IF IT WAS GOOD ) WOULD INTERFERE -- THIS IS WHY MUSIC VOLUME WAS KEPT LOW.

The soldiers' monologues rarely refer to recent events, they are abstract and have a philosophical character, from questions about evil's ontology (ie. its nature and existence) to ethical reflection ("I killed a man... That's worse than rape...").

Simple soldiers look for answers for the most complex and basic questions ('What is evil? Who we are?').   They tug at heart strings as they are put in the context of war.

SOME RANDOM EXAMPLES OF MONOLOGUES IN THE MOVIE:

This great evil. Where does it come from? How’d it steal into the world? What seed, what root did it grow from? Who’s doin’ this? Who’s killin’ us? Robbing us of life and light. Mockin’ us with the sight of what we might’ve known. Does our ruin benefit the earth? Does it help the grass to grow, the sun to shine? Is this darkness in you, too? Have you passed to this night?

Everything a lie. Everything you hear, everything you see. So much to spew out. They just keep coming, one after another. You’re in a box, a moving box. They want you dead or in their lie. Only one thing a man can do: Find something that’s his. Make an island for himself. If I never meet you in this life, let me feel the lack. A glance from your eyes and my life will be yours.

My dear wife, you get something twisted out of your insides by all this blood, filth, and noise. I want to stay changeless for you. I want to come back to you the man I was before. … Why should I be afraid to die? I belong to you. If I go first, I’ll wait for you there, on the other side of the dark waters. Be with me now. … We. We together. One being. Flow together like water. Till I can’t tell you from me. I drink you. Now. Now. … Love. Where does it come from? Who lit this flame in us? No war can put it out, conquer it. I was a prisoner. You set me free. …

Are you righteous? Kind? Does your confidence lie in this? Are you loved by all? Know that I was, too. Do you imagine your suffering will be any less because you loved goodness, truth?

War don't ennoble men. It turns them into dogs... poisons the soul.

Where is it that we were together? Who were you that I lived with? The brother. The friend. Darkness, light. Strife and love. Are they the workings of one mind? The features of the same face? Oh, my soul. Let me be in you now. Look out through my eyes. Look out at the things you made. All things shining.

In this world, a man, himself, is nothing. And there ain't no world but this one.

Love. Where does it come from? Who lit this flame in us? No war can put it out, conquer it. I was a prisoner. You set me free.

I remember my mother when she was dyin', looked all shrunk up and gray. I asked her if she was afraid. She just shook her head. I was afraid to touch the death I seen in her. I couldn't find nothin' beautiful or uplifting about her goin' back to God. I heard of people talk about immortality, but I ain't seen it.

I wondered how it'd be like when I died, what it'd be like to know this breath now was the last one you was ever gonna draw. I just hope I can meet it the same way she did, with the same... calm. 'Cause that's where it's hidden - the immortality I hadn't seen.

What's this war in the heart of nature? Why does nature vie with itself? The land contend with the sea? Is there an avenging power in nature? Not one power, but two?

I seen another world. Sometimes I think it was just my imagination.

We. We together. One being. Flow together like water. Till I can't tell you from me. I drink you. Now. Now.

Everyone lookin' for salvation by himself. Each like a coal thrown from the fire.

How did we loose all the good that was given us?. Let it slip away. Scattered careless.

We're living in a world that's blowing itself to hell as fast as everybody can arrange it

You are my sons, my dear sons. You live inside me now. I'll carry you wherever I go.

We were a family. How'd it break up and come apart, so that now we're turned against each other? Each standing in the other's light. How'd we lose that good that was given us? Let it slip away. Scattered it, careless. What's keepin' us from reaching out, touching the glory?

Oh, my soul, let me be in you now. Look out through my eyes, look out at the things you've made. All things shining.

You're death that captures all. You too are the source of all that's going to be born.

I HAVE NOT SEEN A SINGLE GOOD WESTERN MOVIE CRITIC TILL TODAY.

THIS IS WHY I WROTE A REVIEW ON "BREAKING BAD " -- IT WENT BEYOND THE MUNDANE -- DELVING DEEP WITHIN THE HUMAN PSYCHE

George Vincent "Vince" Gilligan, Jr is the VADAKAYIL of film direction.

Vince created ( wrote/ produced/ directed ) – the TV serial named BREAKING BAD – which can never ever be surpassed in the annals of TV or even movies.

WHERE JAPS ATE (WOUNDED / SICK WITH MALARIA) JAPS IN GUADALCANAL

ALL IN GOOD TIME !

WAIT FOR MY REVIEW OF "THE THIN RED LINE"

MALICK ---- NOR ALL THOSE THOUSANDS OF PEA BRAINED MOVIE CRITICS WONT EVEN KNOW THE REAL MEANING OF "THE RED LINE"

JAPS HAD EATEN 21,000 INDIAN SOLDIERS FOR DINNER AT RABAUL.

I HAVE BEEN TO ALL THESE PLACES. I KNOW !

IN REALITY WHEN THE US SOLDIERS OVERPOWERED THE JAPANESE POSTS --

THEY SAW A FEW MEN MANNING HEAVY GUNS-- THE REST WERE ALL DISEASED WITH MALARIA AND WEAK DYSENTERY WITH VERY LITTLE WATER AND NO FOOD .

THE CANNIBALIZED ROTTEN HUMAN FLESH AND BONES EVERYWHERE --

---WITH SUCH A TERRIBLE STENCH THAT THEY HAD TO EVACUATE THE LIVING JAPS AND SET FIRE TO THE WHOLE PLACE

THE SAME WAS THE CASE AT RABAUL

The Japanese sadist Masanobu Tsuji , a politician , who was instrumental in Japanese soldiers eating humans rather than surrender ( due to lack of food ) escaped and was seen a a Buddhist monk in Thailand . He was addicted to eating human liver and having sex with small girls.

Masanobu Tsuji would boast "my body carries the bullets of five countries--Russian from Nomonhan, American from Guadalcanal, Chinese from Shanghai, British from Burma, and Australian from the Philippines"

There was a QUID PRO QUO between the Japanese emperor and USA to bury all bad images of Japan after WW2.

There were some political prisoners in a Siberian prison.  They dug a tunnel and everyone escaped except for one man. He chose to stay behind.

In the morning the jailer came from his shack, and discovered that all had escaped except for the one man who had elected to stay behind.   The frustrated guard began beating the man who stayed behind.

Why would the jailer beat the man who stayed behind—the man who did NOT break the rules ?

The man who stayed behind was truly independent.  He didn’t care whether he was running around on the outside or whether he was stuck inside. To him it didn’t matter.  You see, no  jailer had any power over him.

The brutal jailer wanted power to dominate. But the man who stayed behind could not be dominated

Deep inside his heart, the jailer wanted this frozen prison to be shut down so that he could get transferred away from that godforsaken place.

It doesn’t matter who you are because the inner world is the place of independence.  Deeper still, the inner world is the place where we go beyond the illusion of independence.

ENOUGH OF ZIMMERS KEY BOARD SCORES.

I WISH FUTURE WAR MOVIES USES PANPIPES WHEN CUTTING INTO HUMAN EMOTIONS--

THIS FLUTE CAN RESONATE THE SOUL.   IT GOES WAY BEYOND STRUMMING HEART STRINGS

Hans Zimmer  uses a similar method to the Russian legendary composer Dmitri Shostakovich. His music is characterized by sharp contrasts, elements of the grotesque, and ambivalent tonality..

Shostakovich's works are broadly tonal and in the Romantic tradition, but with elements of atonality and chromaticism.   Both tend to use church scales, which, in case of The Thin Red Line, makes the not very intense music gain authority and dramatism.

Below: Zimmer's keyboard score-- touted to be ZE masterpiece --balls !

Real liberation is the direct experience of “Dying into the Nothing” where you are free from the delusion of separation.

MANY TRAUMATISED WAR VETERANS  , CAME HOME ,  JUST HAPPY TO BE ALIVE , TOTALLY DEVOID OF EGO.

THEIR WIVES, CHILDREN AND FRIENDS WONDER— IS THIS THE SAME GOLD DIGGIN' , EGO LADEN SON OF A BITCH,  WHO LEFT HIS HOME FOR WAR A YEAR AGO?

Samyama is a yogic technique of Patanjali , penned 7000 years ago

Samyama is the state of resting in deep inner silence  (samadhi), along with the ability to pick up a thought (dharana) and let it go inward (Dhyana).

Samyama is like the surgeon's scalpel, the razor sharp tool of discrimination  that is used for the deep introspection, which eventually uncovers the jewel of the Self, in the core of our being , into that EGOLESS state.

Once the inner light dawns through samyama , it is used to examine the stages of subtle objects, whether normally veiled or far away. The finest discrimination finally leads to liberation

TRAUMA IN WAR CAN LEAD TO SAMYAMA VIA THE BACKDOOR— SUCH IS THE TRANSCEDENT PARADOX OF THE HUMAN MIND

Transcendence abounds in THE THIN RED LINE .

Shallow minds of Rajeev Masand SQUEAK type critics cant grasp it.

After the Japanese stronghold has been run over  Witt is seen sitting down along the edge of a pond. On the diegetic soundtrack there are ambient pond noises such as the sound of splashing water, wind, rustling leaves, and insects. Witt pours water over his head and then down the large, green leaf of an arrowhead plant. There is a cut to a low-angle shot of the pond which shows reflections in the water and a ripple moving across the pond’s surface.

Gradually mixed into the soundtrack at this point is the Islander music heard near the start of the film and the sound of rushing water reminiscent of the crashing waves heard in the green island paradise sequences; then a cut to a long shot of one of the ‘natives’ perched on a rock adjacent to a large waterfall. What follows is a shot of Witt standing at the base of the waterfall happily being drenched in the cascading water; then a series of images showing Melanesian ‘natives’ at the seashore living their Arcadian-like existence.

The combination of the movement and sound of water at the pond triggers Witt’s memories of the green island paradise – or, it triggers imagined scenes of such a paradise, since the Melanesian community also functions as part of the character’s search for transcendence.

There is this desire for escape to the peace of transcendence revolved around the connections between existence and transcendence.

Malick is able to impress upon the intelligentsia among the audience - the sensation that nature is in a state of indifference vis-à-vis human affairs.

Throughout the movie there is a reach for the transcendent arising out of the most horrible circumstances

Terrence Malick crafts a masterpiece--  a powerfully written, superbly acted story that casts new light on his characteristic themes of nature and culture, thought and language, humanity and inhumanity, paradise lost and transcendence found.

In Yoga once the core Samyama practice is mastered, it becomes a natural habit of letting go.

Animals cant witness themselves-only conscious humans can.. When you develop the witness, it empowers your ability to know who you are, both as an individual living in the world, and as a transcendent, universal consciousness.

Witnessing requires you to be in the moment and to see things as they are—the essence of Bhagawad Gita penned 6000 years ago.. It enables you to respond with greater skill, intuition grace and wisdom.

The witness is the silent,  peaceful centre of your being.   It is from this perspective that you view your mind, the eternally changing, thinking, emoting, feeling, remembering, desiring part of you.

You learn how to make the mind a tool that you can use to live a fulfilled life.   If you have not developed the witness then your mind becomes your master.

Samyama is an advanced yogic technique, one that is based on principles which utilize the operative powers of some of the more subtle and universal facets of consciousness; facets which many of us are not aware even exist, but which are available to all of us

The ultimate objective of yoga is not to get entangled like assholes in PRETZEL positions---but to move beyond one's natural tendencies of anger, frustration, disappointment, happiness, and contentment, all of which could be short lived

Marking an end to Terrence Malick's twenty plus years of hibernation ( after two master pieces ) , THE THIN RED LINE is less a war film than a full-fledged existential inquiry into, well, everything

The film opens with an idyll on a Pacific island. Two soldiers have gone AWOL and live blissfully with tribal people who exist in a pre-lapsarian state, eating the fruit that falls from the trees and the fish that leap from the seas, and smiling contentedly at the bounty of Eden.

This is, the movie implies, a society that reflects man's best nature. But soon GRUESOME reality interrupts when the two soldiers are captured and returned to their Army company for the assault on a crucial hill on Guadalcanal.

You can read the plot of the film from Wikipedia --

QUOTE:   United States Army Private Witt goes AWOL from his unit and lives among the carefree Melanesian natives in the South Pacific. He is found and imprisoned on a troop carrier by First Sergeant Welsh of his company. The men of C Company, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division have been brought to Guadalcanal as reinforcements in the campaign to secure Henderson Field and seize the island from the Japanese.

As they wait in a Navy transport, they contemplate their lives and the invasion. Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Tall talks with Brigadier General Quintard about the invasion and its importance.

C Company lands on Guadalcanal unopposed and marches to the interior of the island, encountering natives and evidence of the Japanese presence. They arrive near Hill 210, a key Japanese position. The Japanese have placed bunkers at the top of the hill and anyone attempting the climb will be cut down.

A brief shelling of the hill begins the next day at dawn. C Company attempts to capture the hill but is repelled by gunfire. Among the first killed is one of the platoon leaders, Second Lieutenant Whyte. During the battle, a squad led by Sergeant Keck hides behind a swell safe from enemy fire to wait for reinforcements. Keck reaches for a grenade but accidentally pulls the pin and dies in the process.

Lieutenant Colonel Tall orders the company commander, Captain James Staros, to take the bunker by frontal assault, at whatever cost. Staros refuses and Tall decides to join Staros on the front line to see the situation. The Japanese resistance seems to have lessened, and Tall's opinion of Staros seems to have been sealed. Private Witt, having been assigned punitively as a stretcher bearer, asks to rejoin the company, and is allowed to do so.

Below:  One of The Thin Red Line’s most emotionally affecting scenes finds Woody Harrelson blowing his own ass off with a grenade.  We don’t see the moment of bloody impact; only the gut-wrenching aftermath and the look in his eyes as he realizes his family jewels is toast.

A small detachment of men performs a reconnaissance mission on Tall's orders to determine the strength of the Japanese bunker. Private Bell reports there are five machine guns in the bunker. He joins another small team of men (including Witt), led by Captain John Gaff, on a flanking mission to take the bunker. The operation is a success and C Company overruns one of the last Japanese strongholds on the island. The Japanese they find are largely malnourished and dying, and put up little resistance.

For their efforts the men are given a week's leave: the airfield where they are based comes under enemy artillery bombardment; Bell receives a letter from his wife informing him that she has fallen in love with someone else and wishes to divorce;

Captain Staros is relieved of his command by Lieutenant Colonel Tall, who deems him too soft for the pressures of combat and suggests that he apply for reassignment and become a lawyer in the JAG in Washington. He offers to arrange a Purple Heart for Staros, to avoid the unit's name being stained by having an officer removed from command.

Witt comes across the locals and notices that they have grown distant and distrustful of him and quarrel regularly with one another.

The company is sent on patrol up a river but with the inexperienced 1st Lieutenant George Band at its head. As Japanese artillery fire falls close to their positions; Band orders some men to scout upriver, with Witt volunteering to go along. They encounter an advancing Japanese column and are attacked.

To buy time for Corporal Fife to go back and inform the rest of the unit, Witt draws away the Japanese but is then encircled by one of their squads, who demand that he surrender. He raises his rifle and is gunned down.

The company is able to retreat safely, and Witt is later buried by Welsh and his squadmates. C Company receives a new commander, Captain Bosche and boards a waiting LCT, departing from the island. UNQUOTE

One of the most interesting aspects of the music of The Thin Red Line are the Melanesian chants that are sung by the inhabitants of the village depicted in the beginning of the movie.

I HAVE BEEN TO ALL THESE MELANESIAN ISLANDS ON SHIPS I COMMANDED.

The Melanesians ( before WW2 ) are living in a sort of idyll. This is the only place where Private Witt (one of the main characters, played by Jim Caviezel) feels safe.

Everybody loves each other, there are no fights between children.

Only when the Americans find him and pick him up, the film becomes dark. The chants are a part of the idyll. It's good, simple religiosity, full of mutual love and that's what the chants are like.

The title of The Thin Red Line means a number of things. In one of the epigraphs of Jones’s novel, it’s a line of military heroes praised by Rudyard Kipling; in the other epigraph, it’s the porous border “between the sane and the mad” mentioned in an old midwestern saying.

SO SO SO-- WHAT IS THIS THIN RED LINE ?

The Thin Red Line is American author James Jones's fourth novel. It draws heavily on Jones's experiences at the Sea Horse during World War II's Guadalcanal campaign.

Of particular significance, Jones recounts his own experience killing a Japanese soldier with his bare hands.

The novel has been adapted for cinema twice, first by Andrew Marton in 1964, then by Terrence Malick in 1998.

The title comes from Rudyard Kipling's poem "Tommy", from the collection Barrack-Room Ballads, in which Kipling describes foot soldiers as "the thin red line of 'eroes".

Kipling's poem is based on the 1854 action of British soldiers during the Crimean War called The Thin Red Line (Battle of Balaclava).

"Tommy" is an 1890 poem by Rudyard Kipling.     The poem addresses the ordinary British soldier fightimg for  ROTSHCHILDs EMPIRE of Kipling's time

I went into a public-'ouse to get a pint o' beer,
The publican 'e up an' sez, "We serve no red-coats here."
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed an' giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an' to myself sez I:
    O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, go away";
But it's "Thank you, Mister Atkins", when the band begins to play,
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's "Thank you, Mister Atkins", when the band begins to play.

I went into a theatre as sober as could be,
They gave a drunk civilian room, but 'adn't none for me;
They sent me to the gallery or round the music-'alls,
But when it comes to fightin', Lord! they'll shove me in the stalls!
    For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, wait outside";
But it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide,
The troopship's on the tide, my boys, the troopship's on the tide,
O it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide.

Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap;
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit.
Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, 'ow's yer soul?"
But it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll,
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll.

We aren't no thin red 'eroes, nor we aren't no blackguards too,
But single men in barricks, most remarkable like you;
An' if sometimes our conduck isn't all your fancy paints,
Why, single men in barricks don't grow into plaster saints;
While it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, fall be'ind",
But it's "Please to walk in front, sir", when there's trouble in the wind,
There's trouble in the wind, my boys, there's trouble in the wind,
O it's "Please to walk in front, sir", when there's trouble in the wind.

You talk o' better food for us, an' schools, an' fires, an' all:
We'll wait for extry rations if you treat us rational.
Don't mess about the cook-room slops, but prove it to our face
The Widow's Uniform is not the soldier-man's disgrace.
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
    But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
    An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool -- you bet that Tommy sees!

The Thin Red Line was aa movie too paralyzingly high-minded to connect with chootiya HILLY HILLY audiences

Japan sent a total of 33,000 soldiers to Guadalcanal, of which only  8,000 returned.

80%  of the 25,000 dead were noncombat fatalities  .  Lot of them ( dying of Malaria )  went as food in their own fellow Jap soldiers stomachs .

Malick, who lives in Texas, doesn't play those quintessential KOSHER Hollywood games.   Maybe that's part of the reason this Harvard- and Oxford-educated recluse directed the justly acclaimed Badlands (1973) and Days of Heaven (1978) and then fell off the face of the earth — that's industry speak for not making movies.

After directing two of the most enduring, visionary films of the '70s, Badlands (1973) and Days Of Heaven (1978), reclusive iconoclast Terrence Malick dropped out of sight altogether, and in the 20 years since, his standing in critical circles has ballooned to mythic proportions.

In 1993, four years after the United States National Film Registry was established, Badlands was selected for preservation by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".   Terrence Malick's debut was a masterful slice of American cinema, rife with the visual poetry

In 2007 Days of Heaven was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". It continues to appear in polls of the best films ever made

One of the cinema's great disappearing acts came to a close with the release of The Thin Red Line in late 1998

Hollywood had changed much since Malick had last made a film; with major corporations buying the great studios and blockbuster filmmaking a priority, visionary films like those Malick had made previously were difficult to come by.

It took long negotiations for a team of producers to get Malick back behind the camera. Hollywood had gone through drastic changes while he walked the earth for twenty years, and the new corporate chiefs preferred market-friendly blockbusters ( for dimwits ) to offbeat art pictures. This is a thinkin’ man’s war movie. None of the past hyped up commie and perverted deans in FTII Pune will even understand it.

In 1988, Geisler and John Roberdeau met with Malick in Paris about writing and directing a movie based on D. M. Thomas' 1981 novel The White Hotel. Malick declined, but told them that he would be willing instead to write either an adaptation of James Jones' The Thin Red Line. The producers paid Malick $250,000 to write a screenplay.

Malick began adapting The Thin Red Line on January 1, 1989. Five months later, the producers received his first draft, which was 300 pages long. According to an article in Entertainment Weekly, they gained the director's confidence by "catering to his every whim

20th Century Fox agreed to put up $39 million of the budget with the stipulation that Malick cast five movie stars from a list of 10 who were interested.

In 1995, once word went out that Malick was making another movie after many years, numerous actors approached him, flooding the casting directors until they had to announce they wouldn't be accepting more requests. Some A-list actors including Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Gary Oldman, and George Clooney offered to work for a fraction and some even offered to work for free.

Bruce Willis even went as far as offering to pay for first-class tickets for the casting crew, to get a few lines for the movie.

In 1996 he had a clause inserted in his contract barring the producers from the set—Malick would not be armtwisted into anything

Malick's reputation and working methods commanded great respect among the actors

Producers Robert Michael Geisler and John Roberdeau fell out with director Terrence Malick during pre-production.   By the time they were filming, their relationship had so deteriorated that Malick barred them from visiting the set.

Prior to the film's release, producers Robert Michael Geisler and John Roberdeau allegedly violated a confidentiality clause they had signed by giving an interview to Vanity Fair about their long involvement with Terrence Malick and the film. Malick was upset by this.

Geisler and Roberdeau had to sign another agreement stating they would not attend the Oscars ceremony. If they violated that agreement, their names would be stripped from the film and video credits.

The movie was almost not made. Sony Pictures dropped plans to produce it because of fears that it couldn't be made for its then $45-million budget. Fortunately, Fox Pictures came to the rescue by providing most of the cash.

Malick’s  film considers the war that exists between earthly and metaphysical ideals, between existence and transcendence, between acceptance and searching.. The film’s philosophy comes mainly through the voice-overs, which spend more time asking questions than propounding answers.

The most beautifully shot war film ever contrasts with the horror of war in each soldier. The film explores the human condition and gives a sense of the differences each soldier had towards the war itself..

Malick's poetic and philosophical language turns his soldiers into soul-searching poets
The story jumps between its five main characters and at least a dozen minor ones

There are them sweet moments when the internal monologues dovetail into dialogue and vice versa-- of spiritual self-interrogation

The cinematography by John Toll is striking, capturing a number of memorable images, such as the death throes of an injured bird, dogs feeding on the remains of the recently-deceased, and the partially-buried face of a dead Japanese soldier.

Like the thematic undercurrent of the film, Malick constantly juxtaposes images of tranquility and destruction: a bearded local passes by the heavily-armed Charlie Company in the jungle and pays them no mind, or the serene image of a sea of tall grass is shattered by the life-and-death struggle between the battling armies.

The Thin Red Line" is the type of film that polarizes its audience—the intelligentsia versus the morons ..   These peabrained morons left the movie hall when there was 30% still to go.  For them this stay in the theatre was like a visit to the dentist’s clinic

DUNKIRK is the shortest war movie ever, while THE THIN RED LINE is the longest

Malick treats both sides in an objective way--some of most shocking and heart wrenching scenes in the movie depict scared Japanese soldiers, they don't differ much from our main characters, more, they are closer to insanity than the Americans

The Thin Red Line is a philosophical treatise, an essay asking many questions (there are no answers given) regarding the world's evil. The key to understanding is the collective, that is the film's main character.

Terence Malik’s coherent philosophical work is outside of any known genre.  It is very rare that Zimmer’s music narrates a movie, especially in a psychological way--   a score that concentrates on characters' emotions and the overall message rather than building drama.

There are no women as characters – even if we glimpse them as dream figures in the minds of the soldiers. It's a deeply mysterious movie, interested in so many things above and beyond war, and so beautiful that the sudden sight of bodies and damage come as a surprise.

Sir,what is your view on movie "saving private Ryan"?

  1. hi gba,

The Thin Red Line is better than Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan or even Oliver Stone's Platoon from 1986.

Saving Private Ryan succumbs to all of Spielberg’s worst instincts, including his tendency to let the onscreen violence do “all the talkin’”.

Both "Saving Private Ryan", and “ The Thin Red Line de-romanticizes WW2 and deconstructs it to the brutal reality Unlike Spielberg, Malick takes a more roundabout , but far better way for making this point.

Malick knows how to visualize his films in an almost flawless fashion as he plunges his camera into 'The Thin Red Line' and stirs it around until the picture on the screen comes to a boil.

For many, the film will be considered too graphic and that's just fine.
Like 'Saving Private Ryan', it details a mission of American soldiers, this time in the Pacific and details the Guadalcanal conflict which is one of history's most written about events in dealing with the American war effort.

The Thin Red line doesn't have that one single talked about scene that will stir up conversation like the opening battle scene in 'Saving Private Ryan'—it is only a series of vignettes strung together

Digression:    In the Bollywood movie NOORIE , the most talked about thingy was why Poonam THILLONG nay Dhillon tied up her dog—due to which she got raped –TEE HEEEEE .

Don’t tell that to Faye SORPOTEL Dsouza –OK ?   Or she will go off on a tangent and THREATHENDENDENN  all men with 50% female army at her disposal. TEE HEEEE !

Steven Spielberg's "Saving Private Ryan" never explored human psyche, though it did explore the rationale behind risking eight lives to free one surviving family member from the dangers on the front. Baap re !

"Saving Private Ryan" contained graphic battle scenes, the film itself was undoubtedly more mainsteam and accessible for regular HILLY BILLY DUFFER audiences

"The Thin Red Line," plays like a lyrical poem, much more thought-provoking in its ideas and treatment-   it targeted the only intelligentsia.   Malick is able to transform everything into a more meaningful tapestry about human nature—this is what film making is all about

'Saving Private Ryan.' was embraced lovingly by the usual PEA BRAINED critics—after all it gave the kind of feel good combat picture—with its awe-inspiring technical virtuosity exemplified by the opening D-Day beach sequence.

Francois Truffaut once described filmmaking as achieving balance between "poetry and journalism."

Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan is arguably a journalistic film: it depicts rather than evokes World War II. It progresses from beginning to end and never strays from its mission.
The Thin Red Line is the antithesis of Spielberg's movie. It doesn't have a destination.

Like the spirit that unifies its soldiers, Malick's filmmaking meanders here and there, picking up what it can, moving on to something else.   War thereby becomes a dream-state.

Malick sacrifices clarity, narrative flow, and maybe even commercial acceptance in the name of sustaining the film's poetic heritage.

So so so-- if you want your combat more rah-rah and less think-think, well, there's always 'Saving Private Ryan.'

With each year, Spielberg’s war opus looks more dated, encumbered by its legendarily bad framing device and its inability to reconcile the numerous attitudes toward war into one coherent view of it.

The Thin Red Line has many narrators, all going through war as this grinding, alienating and dehumanizing experience. They are all trying to save what Private Witt calls "the spark" within themselves and remain human in front of this never ending horror.

Malick does a great job at illustrating their struggle through a series of low, raspy voice-overs as if a character would be talking to himself. They often play while images of wonder (Guadalcanal is a gorgeous place) or horror, while a character is trying to make sense out of the madness.

    CONTINUED TO 2--

  2. CONTINUED FROM 1-

The lean, yet poetic prose of Malick makes it a gripping experience.

It's a little bit overwhelming sometimes (like all the soldiers were warrior/philosophers), but it works damn fuckin’ well overall.

During battle scenes no less terrifying and bewildering than those of Saving Private Ryan, Malick’s impossibly fast dolly shots give way to unrelated close-ups of wildlife, often wildlife caught in the crossfire.

The only thing romanticized here is the tranquil between battle, and the war serves only to scar this beautiful land and corrupt the human beings who fight it.

In 1998, there were two “epic” World War II movies, Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan and Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line. Since starring in either men’s movie garners undeniable prestige (with Malick getting the upper hand since it seems he only makes a movie per decade),

Hollywood would-be tough guys must have been going crazy trying to decide which movie to join.

Spielberg got Tom Hanks and Malick got, well, everyone else. TEE HEEE !
Though comparisons to Saving Private Ryan are inevitable, The Thin Red Line's preference for these enigmatic voids separates it from its louder, more outspoken cousin.

Malick doesn't recreate war as Spielberg does; he aint interested in realism.

The Thin Red Line, like Oliver Stone's Platoon, veils the incoherence of the battlefield with detachment. We somehow remain apart from the action, as if it were a memory.

Putting distance between us and the soldiers, and in certain scenes, between the soldiers and the fighting itself, The Thin Red Line becomes an abstraction of War -- a cinematic ballet of killing , gore and confusion.

Of course as with any good war film, The Thin Red Line contains more than its fair share of action sequences and while they pale in comparison to modern and ‘realistic’ depictions of battle such as the gruesome scenes of Saving Private Ryan, the film does stand out amongst its contemporaries in terms of violence.

There are several genuinely harrowing scenes, such as the painfully slow death of a G.I. caught in an explosion, his death assisted by repeated doses of morphine, and Private Doll repeatedly slamming the head of a Japanese soldier to the ground to earn his first kill.

The Thin Red Line is more of a philosophical study of soldiers at war, so you are almost purposely detached from the characters in order to just focus at the somewhat random thoughts.

Ultimately, The Thin Red Line is able to sustain its image of war as absolute hell without making that message seem as hackneyed and worn-out as, in less wizardly hands, it might appear.

Unlike Saving Private Ryan, this film does not introduce itself with a sequence documenting the madness of war, only to cheat itself—and us—by eventually forcing its characters to find meaning in all the madness, to latch onto some cooked-up notion of honor and nobility within what is always and above all a senseless and unruly occurrence.

Spielberg's soldiers continue fighting because by doing so they shall build up their own characters;  Malick's bleaker but more honest film insists that battle "turns men into dogs, poisons the soul," and we are at no point asked to determine what any of the protagonists have learned or drawn from their horrific experiences.

The Thin Red Line made only a fraction of what Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan made and both films lost to the PATHETIC Shakespeare in Love for the Best Picture Oscar.

Just shows what the KOSHER Oscars are worth

    Capt Ajit Vadakayil
    ..

One of the reasons why Terence Malik did NOT attend the Oscar event was undue pressure put on him by Jewish bigwigs of Hollywood ( Jew Rothschild’agents ) to change the name of Captain Stein ( American German Jew  ) to Captain Staros ( American Greek ).

Why GREEK ?

Because in the book this character is named “ James BUGGER Stein ” .

Well we all know what BUGGER means .  And we all know that GREEK is another name for BUGGER-- anal sex

The movie and book ( JAMES JONES 1962 ) reflects that Staros was a KOSHER coward ( converted to KOSHER compassionate ) who defies orders from his superior officer Col Tall.

This change happened just a couple of days before the release of the movie and to authenticate this switch the movie made room for Tall and Staros to quote Homer in Greek

They did NOT have time to reshoot the scene where the uniform tag of STAROS mentions STEIN

NLP was used ---

Lt Col Tall was made to utter a new concocted dialogue to the new Greek instant noodle convert   “ You're Greek, captain, aren't you?   Did you ever read Homer? We read Homer at the Point-- in Greek.”

KOSHER deceit as usual –to show their race in good light !

So what else is new !!

Jews have been very sensitive to be branded and stereotyped as cowards in battle

Gen Patton was superseded in WW2 because he slapped a Jewish coward soldier who was malingering in the hospital-- while the rest in the hospital were dying.

The entire KOSHER US media of Rothschild made a hue and cry ( ONLY BECAUSE THE COWARD WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS JEWISH ) forcing the US President and Jew Eisenhower to demote Gen Patton –and supersede him with a junior General.

Gen Patton was far senior to Jew Gen Eisenhower—who was selected by Jew Rothschild to carve out the state of Israel after WW2

Gen Patton , an all American hero would be murdered by Jew Gen Eisenhower.

Below: Whoever took the side of Donald Trump against JEW Rothschild's candidate Hillary Clinton was ex-communicated by Hollywood.

With the Russia bill Trump knows that 100% Congressmen and senators are in Rothschild's pocket. The couple of them who voted against the bill were asked to do so , to prevent suspicion .

USA is a nation where in the presidential debate JEWESS Hillary got the questions before hand .

There is no sex leave alone sexual debauchery or perversion in The Thin Red Line.   It just shows that a great director does NOT need this dirt.

Can you imagine FTII ex-dean PERVERT Mahesh Bhatt making a movie without sex , pathetic dirt and perversion ?

A below average director like Mahesh Bhatt goes on BIGG BOSS set and pretends that he is some genius like Terence Malik –TEE HEEE.

Can this fellow Mahesh Bhatt ever make a movie like The Thin Red Line?

In the TV series HOUSE OF CARDS the creator Beau Willimon ( using 12 directors ) packs every episode with sexual perversion.  He tries to inject SOLILOQUY ( Malick’s lyrical monologue equivalent ) spoken from the mouth of Frank Underwood –it cuts no ice.

The only reference to a woman in the movie is when Private Bell dreams about his beloved wife. Jack Bell, is an officer busted down to Private because he couldn’t stand to be away from his wife.
Throughout the movie Private Bell has gauzy daydreams about his loving wife back home

The soldiers are not well-developed as individual characters.   Covered in grime and blood, they look much alike, and we strain to hear their names, barked out mostly in one syllable (Welsh, Fife, Tall, Witt, Gaff, Bosche, Bell, Keck, Staros).   Sometimes during an action we are not sure who we are watching, and have to piece it together afterward

The characters convey the fears, frustrations, and perils of combat, including Private Bell (Ben Chaplin) whose deepest wound comes not in battle but in a "Dear John" letter from his unfaithful adulterous wife; McCron (John Savage) a sergeant who is mentally unhinged by the losses of his squad; and Private First Class Doll (Dash Mihok) who wants to be a hero.   In Witt, we have eternal Optimism, the ability to see the good in everything despite the harshest of conditions.

Within the company, Private Bell  longs for the love of his wife and dreads battle because of it—he wants to survive and be back in one piece for her sake.  He is driven by this deep desire to return home to see his wife, who he thinks about constantly, even in the thick of battle when bullets fly past him.

It's the combination of the visceral battle footage with the 'peaceful' scenes – the flashbacks to Bell's wife or to Witt's 'paradise' village – and the accompanying voice-overs which elevate the film to greatness

Private Bell, is the only character in the film that gets his own flashbacks, as we see him daydreaming of his beautiful wife, desperate to return to her. “If I go first,” he laments in his voice-over, “I’ll wait for you there, on the other side of the dark waters.

Be with me now.” And when he realizes that he may not come back the same man, he monologues to himself, “I want to stay changeless for you. I want to come back to you the man I was before.”

For their efforts the men are given a week's leave: the airfield where they are based comes under enemy artillery bombardment; Bell receives a letter from his wife informing him that she has fallen in love with someone else and wishes to divorce-and this shatters him internally--his buddies are celebrating with booze and happy with the contents of their letters from home

Private Bell is haunted gai by lyrical memories of his wife. He reads the Dear John letter requesting a divorce and grants it, too

Bell now acknowledges the distance that now exists between them . This poor fellow is in many ways the heart of the film . There’s not a moment away from his wife that isn’t also a return to her. (“There’s nowhere we can hide except in each other,” he says.)

Late in the film, he receives the mind  recking Dear John letter, and only this – not his own injuries or the death of his friends, but this – silences these romantic voiceovers.

We don’t hear from him again.

Thick skinned halfwits in the audience will want anal sex to fire their minds.

Below: Thanks to JEWESS Leela Samson ( EX-censor board chief ) we get sexual depravity on Bollywood screens today .  This naukaraani type chutney Mary female Frieda SORPOTEL Pinto exercises her purulent twat and fissured asshole --  now she thinks that she can ADVISE INDIA on cultural and political matters  !

In the movie you have characters like Nick Nolte’s Lieutenant Colonel Tall asking how many men have to be sacrificed to complete the mission. Or  Captain Staros, trying to limit casualties to as few as humanly possible because he doesn’t like seeing his men get hurt.

We see a man yank the grass from the soil yelling “That’s us! That’s all that’s left for us!” We see another man pouring dirt all over his face and helmet fearfully murmuring to himself “We’re dirt. We’re just dirt.”

Penn’s Sergeant Welsh at one point says “What difference do you think you can make, one single man in all this madness? If you die, it’s gonna be for nothing. There’s not some other world out there where everything’s gonna be okay. There’s just this world. Just this rock.”

Private Witt marches to a different drummer,. His speculative voiceover, frequently framed in unanswered questions, contemplates man’s fallen spiritual condition and yearns for communion with the sublime in decidedly poetic cadences:  “Why can’t we stay on the heights, the heights we’re capable of? We know the glory for a while and then fall back into separateness, strife, division.”

Emersonian cadences of Witt’s thoughts: --“Darkness, light, strife, and love, are they the workings of one mind? The features of the same face? Oh my soul, let me be in you now, look out through my eyes, look out at the things you made, all things shining.”

Private Witt, who, examining the peaceful vistas provided by nature, wonders what propels men to war. He is answered by Colonel Tall  who sees instead that the vines wrap themselves around one another as though on a mission to choke the life out of the shrubbery.

Lt. Colonel Tall (Nick Nolte), an aspiring Patton who's finally found his war.  He hopes to get a promotion. It is his chance to prove his leadership abilities, and he will be ruthless in pursuit of glory.
Nick Nolte does a  high-powered turn as the always-hollering Lt. Col. Tall, and obviously put his heart and soul (as well as his voice box) into the role.

Here the tension ratchets up, as Tall must try and convince Captain Staros To lead his men up the hill in a frontal assault against a Jap bunker with heavy guns in an apparent  suicide mission. . This tense moment delineates the different kinds of courage which solders can exhibit under pressure.

At this VERY moment, Thin Red Line metamorphoses into a great war film.

Captain Staros directly refuses an order by Col. Tall to take a hill even ( with bullshit cries of   YEH DIL MAANGE MORE )  while Tall knows the capture would involve the loss of many men.

Lt. Col. Gordon Tall, rose through the ranks in the U.S Army without ever going to war. Now that he has his war, that he has his own battle

Tall is like a fish in the water.   Since he's not on the front lines, he doesn't quite grasp the extent of the carnage and pushes his men to their very limits.

Nolte's performance is a marvel of barely-controlled fury and a bridling need to prove his own fighting mettle; we know that Tall feels underestimated by his superiors and wishes to make Guadalcanal the arena in which he will earn the glory he deserves and be born again.

Tall had been instructed by his commanding officer, General Quintard (played by John Travolta), to do so “without mercy.”

The General reminds him that the Admiral (played by nobody – a hopelessly high-up and hence utterly offscreen figure) will be watching the entire battle from afar, intimidating him further with the political and perhaps moral truth “There’s always someone watching, like a hawk.”

With this threat Tall visibly loses his tree-like uprightness, wobbling into skeptical self-consciousness at the thought of being watched and evaluated every step of the way by an authority eager to replace him if he fails to act in the interest of the war; a strategic and unhesitating sacrifice of the men who fight it is deemed the only acceptable method

Those with power exceeding their measure “play roles they never conceived” (confessed by Tall via interior monologue).

Humans have power over nature and nature has power over humans – there is something almost symbiotic about this back-and-forth tugging of power at this vast scale – but in directing the war rather than fighting it, upper rung figures like Tall and to a lesser extent Staros are cut off from the real war, the war at the heart of nature, and suffer for it, paying the price of spiritual desolation (Tall) and spiritual desperation (Staros)

The Admiral is so completely removed from the film’s sense of reality that he is not even represented as a human being at all, but rather as some sort of god-like overseer for the Americans who appear as tiny chess-size pieces that move within a finite range and according to plan.

The price for such a high degree of alienation is bound to be total, and the irony here is that his power in the war makes him extraneous to the real war and irrelevant to the metaphysical stakes of The Thin Red Line, especially on the question whether such a person can harbor the “one big soul that everyone is a part of.”

After a maelstrom of consternation and strenuous soul-searching over Colonel Tall’s decision to launch a deadly frontal assault on the hill occupied by the Japanese, the company faces the long-awaited and spitefully dreaded moment of first blood—the living proof that the war, World War Two as it is written in the headlines and history books, is their war.

Colonel Tall's  character can't be regarded as fully negative though. His inner voice (the Colonel is heard off screen a few times too) shows that he has a lots of complexes and they may be the main reason behind his behavior.

Lieutenant Colonel Tall orders the company commander, Captain James Staros, to take the bunker by frontal assault, at whatever cost—come what may.    Staros refuses and Tall decides to join Staros on the front line to see the situation.  The Japanese resistance seems to have lessened, and Tall's opinion of Staros seems to have been sealed.  Insubordination in the thick of war , means court martial.

Captain Staros is relieved of his command by Lieutenant Colonel Tall, who deems him too soft for the pressures of combat and suggests that he apply for reassignment and become a lawyer in the JAG in Washington.  He offers to arrange a Purple Heart for Staros, to avoid the unit's name being stained by having an cowardly officer removed from command

Right after Captain Staros has his big confrontation with Colonel Tall  he hangs up the sound power and mutters in Greek. "He's lost it. He doesn't know what he's saying."  ( Ta echi chasi aftos ).

This addition is to whitewash the STEIN kosher thingy .  In reality this muttering was to be in German

Capt Staros has the hardest time coping, crumbling under the weight of lives lost for the greater good of victory, so much so that he accepts his irrational dismissal from Tall as the only safe road back to civilized justice and sanity

The chain of command breaks when Capt Staros defies his superior officer Lt Col Tall.   Tall delivers strict orders to Staros by phone once the fighting commences.

Admirals observe the progress of colonels and colonels observe the progress of captains and captains observe the progress of privates with whom the chain of command comes to an abrupt end, breaking off like a precipice and opening onto a front line where relations of power and perceptual logistics dissolve into a chaos of confrontations beyond the reaches of military organization

Nick Nolte has the best lines in the film.    He was perfectly cast as the hard ass Colonel who watches every move of Captain Staros  "You don't ever have to say that I'm right Staros, we'll assume it"

Staros represents conscience, the source of all guilt and sometimes strength.

Those “in” power, isolated and ensconced, can look on passively – and ironically quite powerlessly – through binoculars and communicate indirectly through telephone, but in the process they distance themselves from the reality of death (the most difficult yet elusive of all realities) and into a position we as viewers more or less find ourselves regarding everything we see and hear.

Staros, finds himself stationed behind the entire platoon directing the attack on behalf of Tall, observes the suspenseful scene through binoculars

It is wrong to say that Staros is a coward and he is in a safe place –only his men are in imminent harm’s way

Staros, represents an interesting case in that he genuinely carries the burden of responsibility for the welfare of his men, carries it deep within his soul, far away from the codes of morality, rendering his position in the chain of command that much more precarious, even torturous--

-- he must witness head-on the deaths he orders from just outside the reaches of death, just far enough back from the front line where he is protected from the brunt of enemy fire.

Soldiers experience war differently than civilians, although either suffer in times of war, and women and children suffer unspeakable atrocities in particular.  We know what happened in Libya, Iraq, Syria, Yemen etc .

The white Jew ( with the help of Rothschild controlled UN )  needs to set man against man and milk the fruits.  In the past decade, up to 2.45 million of those killed in armed conflicts were innocent children.

The widespread trauma caused by these atrocities and suffering of the civilian population is another legacy of these conflicts, the following creates extensive emotional and psychological stress.  The Thin Red Line opens our eyes—it shows the agony of the Japanese soldier too.

The Japanese throughout are totally depersonalized (in one crucial scene, their language is not even translated with subtitles); they aren't seen as enemies so much as necessary antagonists--an expression of nature's compulsion to "contend with itself."

One wonders what murky philosophical voice-over questions were floating above the Japanese soldiers in "The Thin Red Line." Were they also dreaming about nature, immortality, humanity and death?

The operation is a success and C Company overruns one of the last Japanese strongholds on the island. The Japanese they find are largely malnourished and dying of Malaria dysentery , and put up little resistance. The Japs were just happy to be done with the war – eating a fellow Japanese for dinner does NOT boost the morale.

Each of these men the protagonists of their own inner war, and yet nature lives and moves on without them. And indeed, this indiscriminatory view of the world extends to the Japanese soldiers, who are feared  in the first half when we never see them. Yet when their presence is finally known, we find that they’re just as frightened and lost as the Americans.

Malick also humanises the enemy: he makes the Japanese both frightening and very human, when we see them praying, or hopelessly surrendering to defeat

In the scene where the American soldiers are sitting around among the Japanese prisoners after their bivouac ( Hill 210 ) is captured, you see an American soldier sitting next to and taunting a dying Japanese soldier.

The Japanese soldier is retorting and what he is saying over and over to the American soldier is this: Kisama mo itsuka shinun daiyo! Kisama is an unfriendly way to say you. Kind of like saying "you nasty person" but the word is just "you". Mo is "too".  So he's basically saying " you're gonna die one day too you"

Amid the bedlam, a buried face of a dead Japanese soldier speaks to Witt in voiceover, asking, “Are you righteous? Loved by all? Know that I was, too.”   War brings death to both sides, and regardless of borders, it remains tragedy.

An American soldier goes round pulling out Japanese soldiers teeth and in one very touching scene he kneels down and says to the dying soldier "Your gonna die now,... see those birds they;ll eat you alive" ... -- the Japanese soldier responds "What are you to me?...nothing"--

- much later on the American soldier looks at the gold teeth and breaks down crying after hearing the dying words of the Japanese soldier, a very touching scene. This film gets you involved emotionally

As the film approaches the two-hour mark, for instance, a relatively minor character named Private Dale (Arie Verveen) threatens a traumatized Japanese prisoner with brutal treatment.

The captive, who doesn’t understand a thing Dale is saying, speaks a few soft phrases in Japanese, and in the background, Hans Zimmer’s magisterial score quotes the interrogative trumpet line of “The Unanswered Question,”

Below: The Unanswered Question is a musical work by American composer Charles Ives.Charles Edward Ives ( died 1954   was an American  composer. His great music was largely ignored during his life, and many of his works went unperformed for many years. The music was used in The Thin Red Line (1998), by Terrence Malik.

Nothing very unusual happens - soldiers get killed, go crazy with fear, fall out with superiors, and try to find ways of surviving with body and mind intact.

But while Malick is not overly preoccupied with plot, the film's three hours are far from empty-- thematically, philosophically and spiritually, no war movie has been so profoundly rich- pantheist meditation on the role of conflict, violence and death

A soldier rocking and sobbing in the rain for the horrors that he committed, stolen Jap teeth tumbling from his fingers.

Getting inside the heads of the Malick employs a novelistic technique used in his first two films too-- interior monologues.

"Property," Walsh says bitterly. "It's all about property."

The film's centrepiece is the extended and savage campaign to destroy Japanese machine gun fortifications and take a crucial hill.

The fighting is almost an afterthought.. Placing scenes of deep introspection after scenes of carnage, Malick deliberately arranges his cinematic verse around anti-climax. After the Japanese bunker is captured, the commanding colonel (Nick Nolte), a despotic, career-driven alpha male, sits quietly, whittling, staring at something incomprehensible.

We don't know what he's thinking, and we don't need to know. He has achieved a military victory and has found that on the other side of glory lies a resounding silence.

While the war may be narrated from the point of view of the Americans, once the Japanese are revealed behind their weapons and camouflage the film loses all sense of a victor, as if each item in the rising death-toll bore a soul powerful enough to tip the scale of justice off its legs.

The Japanese evacuated the island in February of 1943.

In The Thin Red Line when Witt is killed by the Japanese soldiers,  Malick cut later  shots of him swimming with the Melanesians again.   The dimwit in the audience loses sense of linear time and gets confused .

Superb Captain simply superrrr,
Kya movie kya director kya review
This is a cinema heaven for me 😀
Since the movie was released in 1999 when I was in college, I have thought of this movie always. The only other person in my friend circle who liked it as much is Pulosto my close buddy.
I used to think we must be eccentric to like this movie so much. I have watched this movie sober, drunk and on weed.
It brings out whole different layers and I catch different stuff. It is reality and that's why it's so hard. The reality of the tragic human condition and the reality of the severe harshness people are subjected to.
Ben Chaplins character was so happy with the Melanesians. Amazing that you have actually been there 😀
And then he just goes to an inevitable death pushed by the military industrial complex.
Denied even a basic peaceful life. Every man is the same and that is the gut wrenching reality.
Regards

  1. hi ss,

The Melanesian singers had a strange voice timbre

    I loved it

I have dropped off Petrol / Diesel and Jet fuel in these islands. I know local stories .

DURING WW2 THERE WAS NO FUEL-- THE LOCALS USED COCONUT OIL-- FOR BRAKE FLUID THEY PISSED INTO IT..

Japs used to catch women and cut off one breast -it was a dinner delicacy

there are things I cant say .

Our lives and deaths may be impersonally swallowed in the current, yet we are fleetingly a part of the continuity of life .   In The Thin Red Line this is reflected via evocative and spiritualised notions of ‘all things shining’ and ‘the glory’ of existence.

Malick’s desire to make not a war movie but a movie about what happens to people who go to war results in a film that is more prose and poetry than it is a narrative or fiction.

For all the dissonant voices, the star cameos, the awesome cinematography, this is Malick's vision alone.

Malick’s genius is that he takes us in to not only the real and physical hell of war, but also into the thoughts and passions, doubts and deliberations of soldiers ,their officers, and the people who sent them into battle.

Malick uses poetic metaphors in many sequences as a haunting afterglow instead of any narratives
Malick a philosophy professor has loaded the beast of war with soul, filled its belly with the spirit of the men, good and evil, who die, or survive its appaling appetite. The film's message is life, pure and simple.

How can a war film be truly great unless you care deeply about its effects on people you've come to know after some rich character development.

I WAS JUST LISTENING TO SOME PEA BRAINED ACTORS ON TV TALKING ABOUT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OF “JAB HARRY MET SEJAL”  ==

--AND I HAD THE BIGGEST BELLY LAUGH OF 2017.

OH BOY !    I STILL CANT STOP LAUGHING !!

FROGS IN THE WELL CRY “ KITHNA CHENGA DUNIYA HAI HAMAARA … AAKASH DEHKO GOL GOL NEELA “

Unlike Spielberg, Malick doesn't immediately hurtle us into the inferno of battle. Instead, he lulls us into the brutality of war through an extended prologue..

The Thin Red Line is almost a profound and almost poetic meditation on the nature of war and how it poisons man's soul.

Malik shows that there is nothing noble about this bloody conflict, and, ultimately, there are no winners.  He gives this war film an almost elegiac quality and a rare humanity.

Nick Nolte as Tall is dynamic as the obsessed and driven colonel who relishes his first opportunity to fight a war after fifteen years in the army, and who doesn't care how many men have to lose their lives in securing a vital strategic position

The Thin Red Line is a metaphysical war movie – made for the thinkers not the DUFFERS.  Malick raised the bar and how !

Spielberg  never asks  too many uncomfortable questions, or get too much in your face about the queasiness of war.

The movie is cocooned in dreamy narration, with a peak behind most major characters' minds (there's also a "neutral" narrator played by a non-cast member), woven together into a kind of aural poetry

The results are a war movie unlike anything you've ever seen, a far-out, consciousness-raising meditation on the nature of man and violence.

It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but  the intelligentsia will be in absolute heaven.  There is a  movie that challenges all of your preconceived notions of what a "war movie" is or should be.

Malik came back after a 20 year haitus and blew everyone away, as expected  – the gorgeous photography, the editorial cubism, his naturalistic way with actors; everything is top notch and go-for-broke.

We get raw realism —what do we get today?—all bullshit unreal films like Picasso shit!

Here is a movie which is better than a novel  Terrence Malick cracked this one out of the park though.

In a hundred years from now, when critics and cinema lovers will remember Malick, they will remember The Thin Red Line before all his other movies.

It's a movie with balls, heart and supreme technical mastery. You don’t need to make Interstellar to show technical mastery

Malick’s film is one of the most honest ever made about the brutality of war. When soldiers are relieved of duty, they don’t make "politically correct "speeches about staying until the job is done; they make for the next boat out with scant hesitation.

Hans Zimmer admitted that Malick understands music better than most directors he's worked with.

You don’t have to be a hen to appreciate a fuckin’ omelet

Terrence Malick, after two decades of absence, created a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that is still being puzzled two decades later.

The puzzle ends today—and it took a Capt Ajit Vadakayil to do it

Liberal Hollywood hates real wars, but adores the hell out of war movies. How else can you explain the sheer bulk of actors, stars and would-be stars, who flock to be a part of war movies no matter how small their part? Maybe it’s the need to feel “tough,” so you play the toughest guys out there — and who is tougher than the men who survived a “world war”?

The aged colonel shooting for a general’s star on his helmet  orders men to keep moving directly up the hill. He wants his glory, and he’ll sacrifice hundreds to get it.   Only when a captain  directly disobeys him does the colonel stop to consider what he’s doing, though not before he chews out the captain in front of God and everybody.

Later, when the men break through, the colonel pushes the men far ahead of the water supply in the hopes of swift victory, compounding the soldiers’ misery.

Possibly the most primal scene occurs early in the film as Charlie Company marches in file through Guadalcanal's rain forest. A native man approaches them on foot. He is old, with a shaggy beard and an unruly head of hair. He passes the army unit without acknowledging it, without even appearing to see it. The soldiers in turn stare quizzically at this local curiosity. Who is he? What is his business? Is he God? Is God ignoring us?

As a war movie, The Thin Red Line is oddly pensive. It contemplates its own action, its own carnage, and its own chaos.. These soldiers are true poet-warriors in the Ancient Greek sense. When that same soldier realizes he's about to die, the camera concentrates on his face. There is silence -- no music, no gunfire. He recognizes the face of death, contemplates it, and chooses not to resist.

Despite our detachment, the soldiers never degenerate into war stereotypes. Their minds are completely exposed to us; no thoughts or ideas remain hidden.. From Nolte's teeth-gnashing colonel to Sean Penn's no-bullshit sergeant, Malick trusts that we'll find something salvageable buried within these disillusioned wrecks.

Even the most realistic scenes in The Thin Red Line feel like they're couched in a reverie. The soldiers are jolted awake by incoming mortar shells or exploding grenades; they spring to action with gung-ho clarity; and when all is done, they naturally retreat back into their thoughts

Malick films physical confrontations as sudden bursts of consciousness, as something temporary and ethereal. They don't persist in the soldiers' minds or in our minds. They evaporate from our subconscious. For Malick, battle scenes are merely catalysts for pondering the question one soldier asks, "How did we lose the good that was given us?"

On this island, the men at war are seized by dreams, visions, and hallucinations. Much of the screenplay consists of stream-of-consciousness monologues by various characters about nature, good and evil, love, pain, the fear of death, and the mystical oneness of all creation.

The Thin Red Line is a rare personal film that feels like a generous gift to mankind's collective conscience. After twenty years of hibernation Malick proves that he can still tread the thin line between poetry and journalism, dreams and reality, film and life.

The title of the film refers to an old Midwestern saying, "There's only a thin red line between the sane and the mad."

The film  conveys the obscenity of war and the strange mixture of virtue and vice it draws out of men.

The poetic voice overs emerge from the souls of the soldiers rather than their minds.  This movie goes even further to show us the humanity of the people we kill while we are in war..

Malick  intermingles  brutality and beauty, his signature cutaways to indigenous flora and fauna-the gentle lyricism of his disjunctive narration - painterly images too rich to fully register in one single viewing.

Duffers keep away— even the first view will be too much for your empty brain to handle.

In The Thin Red Line, each of these soldiers are really just dying for nothing  .. . They leave just as much impact as the leaves that fall to the ground when the trees are shaken by their explosions and ruin.

There’s even a moment in the film where the numerous deaths of various infantrymen are interrupted by a shot of a small bird that’s been just as damaged from the ensuing battle; crawling, writhing around the ground, and flapping its wings in a futile attempt to fly away from the destruction its human counterparts are creating.

Throughout The Thin Red Line, we hear a narrator that we never really get a good glimpse of throughout the experience.

This is the voice that opens the film with “What’s this war in the heart of nature? Why does nature vie with itself?” and then proceeds to narrate with some of the more famous lines like “What is this great evil? How did it steal into the world? From what seed, what root did it spring? Who’s doing this? Who’s killing us? Robbing us of light and life. Mocking us with the sight of what we might have known.”

The Thin Red Line is one of the most harrowing of anti-war statements—and hence is unsuitable to a military cadet academy library. .

And as we see hundreds of these men losing their lives, the one true constant in this war is, yet again, nature. The vines and the trees outlive the humans. They’re the ones that leave the legacy of the earth.

And while these two fight, the Melanesians are probably still in their village, living peacefully, swimming freely in the same oceans that Private Witt once swam in for a brief but impactful period of time.

It’s clear from the very beginning that this isn’t a film about heroes but instead victims. Instead of war glorifying the individual, it “poisons the soul”, as one character puts it.

The film’s official tagline was “Every man fights his own war” and one of Malick’s obsessive themes that connects all of his work is the contemplation of man’s place in the universe, how important we are as a species in the grand scheme of life, and what mark will we leave when we’re eventually gone forever. Yet they’re all equal in their importance.

What differs, however, is each soldier’s view of that importance.

The majority of the soldiers in C Company are neither heroes nor cowards. They’re simply men, many of whose spirits are too fragile for the war in which they’re involved. They look upon each other and the world with searching eyes as though looking for something in the world that matches their own conception of it

.John Steinbeck mirrored Vedanta    "maybe all men got one big soul everybody's a part of"...

The Thin Red Line evokes equal (if not greater) horror by operating in such irregular, fitful rhythms, by juxtaposing the brutal with the banal, and by depriving both soldier and viewer of any sturdy foundation against which to measure their experience.

Characters emerge and disappear with startling suddenness

Some people create their own rules and Malick is one of them. He creates his own path while carrying his own lamp.

War numbs the soul, and in the midst of this meaningless at least one main character in this movie refuses to degenerate into an animal, even at his moment of death. This is inspiring indeed

This film takes you inside the men who are fighting. Two main characters reveal profound states of mind in the midst of their hell, and both refuse to harden their hearts.

The Thin Red Line is beautiful to watch, and flows deeply into profound areas of faith, life and death.
This film rightly challenges the waste of human life resulting from the egos of detached military leaders.

The man in the trenches has very often been slaughtered at the hands of some leader’s personal objectives—and rarely does the private see the big picture around him.

Many have run down The Thin Red Line for the lack of characterization, plot and an unclear setting.   They must know that  these “flaws” are intentional, a deliberate attempt to divorce the audience from the character and the narrative and instead explore something else entirely.

The Thin Red Line is a complete divorce from any previous war film. The film shows little interest in the history or the characters. Instead, WWII becomes a backdrop for Malick to explore the nature of war itself, ruminate on why men are driven to kill each other.

He concludes it’s not a struggle against an outward foe, but an inward contention, something Malick sees as innate to human nature, man vying against his very self.

The entire film is built around one battle which is driven by a lieutenant colonel’s ambition. The men fighting the battle have little investment in the conflict and many have a bleak and existential view of the whole affair.

There is no victory or triumph in The Thin Red Line through battle. War is inevitable; the only thing to do is to find a way cope

This film is nearly 3 hours long..

The movie takes shape as a rich network of opposing forces: fear of death and awe for life, the heady abstraction of its ideas and the near-hallucinatory clarity of its sounds and images.

DUH ?

THIS MOVIE IS NOT FOR HALF WITS , GAYS AND NYMPHOMANIACS WHO GO TO DROOL AT WWF WRESTLING

The Thin Red Line is perhaps the most romantic war film ever made- what sets it apart is that it never romanticizes war.

DUFFERS cry—if there is romance where is the fuckin’ sex ?

There’s an old joke that goes like this:

Worried that their son was too optimistic, the parents of a little boy took him to a psychiatrist. In an attempt to dampen the boy’s spirits, the psychiatrist showed him into a room piled high with nothing but horse manure. Instead of displaying distaste, the little boy clambered to the top of the pile and began digging.

“What are you doing?” the psychiatrist asked.

“With all this manure,” the little boy replied, beaming, “there must be a pony in here somewhere.”

I CHOSE THIS POEM FOR  MY 9 YEAR OLD ELDER SON FOR AN INTER SCHOOL POETRY COMPETITION—WHICH GOT HIM THE TOP PRIZE

UNARMED and unattended walks the Czar, Through Moscow's busy street one winter's day..

The crowd uncover as his face they see,- " God greet the Czar !" they say.

Along his path there moved a funeral, Grey spectacle of poverty and woe.

A wretched sledge, dragged by one weary man, Slowly across the snow.

And on the sledge, blown by the winter wind, Lay a poor coffin, very rude and bare.

And he who drew it bent before his load, With dull and sullen air.

The Emperor stopped and beckoned to the man ; " Who is't thou bearest to the grave ?" he said..

" Only a soldier, Sire !" the short reply. " Only a soldier, dead.!"

" Only a soldier??!!"  musing, said the Czar ;

" Only a Russian, who was poor and brave..  Move on. I follow. Such an one goes not Unhonoured to his grave."

He bent his head, and silent raised his cap; The Czar of all the Russias, pacing slow,.

Following the coffin, as again it went, Slowly across the snow.

The passers of the street, all wondering, Looked on that sight, then followed silently

Peasant and prince, and artisan and clerk, All in one company.

Still, as they went, the crowd grew ever more, Till thousands stood around the friendless grave,.

Led by that princely heart, who, royal, true, Honoured the poor and brave.

Insecurity or the sword of Damocles is the chief propulsive power in this world. Some mavericks, like you know who-- welcome a certain amount of frustration as a challenge—it gives them a kick to overcome it. Treat a quickened pulse caused by adrenaline rush as an ally –and not as an enemy. You have the power now to convert fear into excitement, flight to fight.

When people gun for them it gives a chance to prove themselves . Tactical anger has more to do than what meets the eye. You can now do things you would not have done normally. Some people need to feel angry in order to create enough leverage on themselves to make a change.

Too little stress may be as harmful as too much stress, especially when you want to get a task done. Some stress or stimulation is needed for optimum performance—this is termed positive stress response PSR. Optimum stimulation causes creativity and change.

Performance rises as stress increases. Once a optimum point is crossed however, increasing stress impairs judgement and alertness and performance falls off. Too much stress causes panic and feeling of inability to cope.

How can we Indians revive and get back our original Kshatriya Blood that we Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Christians of Bharatmata have lost and forgotten?

How to get back the same original Kshatriya blood that was running constanly in our veins while fighting against Mughals, British or for the white man during World War 1 and 2. the whole world feared us because of our Kshatriya Blood.

  5. Sir,what is your view on movie "saving private Ryan"?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies

Digression” In the Bollywood movie NOORIE , the most talked about thingy was why Poonam THILLONG nay Dhillon tied up her dog—due to which she got raped –TEE HEEEEE .

Don’t tell that to Faye SORPOTEL Dsouza –OK ? Or she will go off on a tangent and threathen all men with 50% female army at her disposal.

"The Thin Red Line," plays like a lyrical poem, much more thought-provoking in its ideas and treatment-it targeted the only intelligentsia.

      Delete

To remove Gulika ( son of Saturn -Shani ) effect for my son and his prospective wife , my wife went to the temple and lit pandham ( fire torch ) - to block Prabala Vidhi - this is 7000 year old Atharva Veda stuff .

THE BENAMI MEDIA AND THEIR RATIONALIST STOOGES WERE RIDICULING OUR ISRO CHAIRMAN FOR PRESSING A BUTTON TAKING CARE OF RAHU KALAM AND FOR PRAYING AT A TEMPLE- BEFORE SENDING OUR ROCKET TO MARS .

IF THE US PRESIDENT PRAYS IN A CHURCH, WWWOOOOH IT IS A DAMN GOOD THING RIGHT ?

WHEN THE WHITE MAN WAS RUNNING AROUND NAKED DOING GRUNT GRUNT, WE ALREADY HAD OUR ASTRONOMICAL ALMANACS FOR SEVERAL MILLENNIUMS.

The Moon (Chandra) completes its orbit round the earth in about a month crossing the orbit of earth twice in the same period, once when it goes from south to north and at another time while travelling from north to south.

The ascending point is called "Rahu" and descending point - "Ketu". These have retrograde motion in the zodiac at the rate of 19°20' per year.

It has been established beyond doubt that Rahu and Ketu influence an individual’s life, at times more than other planets.

Since Rahu and Ketu are in exact opposition to each other, their effect should be considered simultaneously.

Rahu has the properties of Shani (Saturn) whereas Ketu has the influence of Mangala (Mars)

They indicate the precise point of the harmony with the three most important influences in our life- the Sun, the Earth and the Moon. This relationship plays an important part in the enfolding of individual consciousness.

Their role as Karmic indicators of our life is connected with their power to cause eclipses.

The eclipses occur in the vicinity of Rahu Ketu during the Full Moon and the New Moon. (During New Moon when it is +/- 18 degrees from Rahu Ketu, the Solar eclipse takes place. At the full Moon +/- 11 degrees 15' from the nodal position, the Lunar eclipse takes place.)

As they symbolically eclipse the Sun (consciousness) and the Moon (the Mind), they have a great part to play in darkening our perspective in order to bring in new light. They deal with the concept of death and re-birth, transformation and regeneration.

They have been given the status of planets to emphasise their significance and the importance placed on eclipses.

They have no substance and are physically non-existent. Yet their influence is full of potency and spiritual significance.

They work in unison 180 degrees apart, two opposite points in the zodiac with a mission to churn our lives in order to externalise hidden potential and wisdom. In keeping with their shadowy nature, they work on a psychological level.

It is always difficult to gauge their effect because their main concern is with our emotional makeup. They effect us internally. We are unaware of what exactly is happening to us at the time..

Ketu deals with the past Karma and Rahu with the future.

The five instincts that keep us attached to the materialistic purpose of life are Kaam (Desire, passions) Krodh (Anger) Madh (intoxicants- drugs, alcohol etc) Moh (Attachment) Lobh(Greed) and Matsaya(Jealousy).

We need to control our instincts rather than allowing ourselves to be controlled by them. Both Rahu and Ketu have the ability to keep our mind focused on these instincts- Rahu by exaggerating and Ketu by obscuring or blocking.

We are tied down to the cycle of unhappiness and dissatisfaction as we cannot break away from our lower selves. We are born again and again to experience the pleasures and pains of the earthly life until we recognise them to be the illusions that they are.

Rahu Ketu deals with the inner fight within us, the moral and the social choices we have to constantly make and the inner dilemmas.

      CONTINUED TO 2--

      Delete
    2. CONTINUED FROM 1-

Rahu takes people off their Dharmic past path to tempt them on the road of self destruction. Ketu is considered the keeper of the book of our life- past and present Karmas.

When all the planets are hemmed between Rahu and Ketu (i.e., the moon's north node and the moon's south node), Kaalsarpa YOGAM ( not dosham ) is formed.

Kalasarpa yogam is a karmic dosha that may run across the generations—bad luck galore .

People go for Kalsarpa Shanti Pooja to Trimbakeshwar Temple at Nasik .

A FAKE GURU AND A DROHI NAMED SRI SRI RAVISHANKAR TWEETED AND TOLD ON NDTV, THAT LORD AYYAPPA ( 9TH AVATAR OF VISHNU ) IS A PRODUCT OF A HOMOSEXUAL UNION BETWEEN LORD SHIVA AND LORD VISHNU.

HE HAS USED THE STORY OF MOHINI AND RAHU/ KETU TO LIE THAT SANATANA DHARMA SUPPORTS ANAL SEX --AND THAT VISHNU ( MOHINI ) AND SHIVA HAD ANAL SEX TO PRODUCE LORD AYYAPPA ( VISHNUs 9TH AVATAR )

SORRY -- VISHNU AND SHIVA ARE COSMIC FORCES-- VISHNU AVATAR AYYAPPA ( IMHOTEP ) WAS A MORTAL

In astrology we do NOT use the far planets Uranus ( shweta ) , Neptune ( shyama ) and Pluto ( teevra ) as they stay in a single rashi for too long. Instead we use moon , Rahu and Ketu

Antikythera mechanism is an astrological instrument and belongs to ancient Kerala Navigators. This instrument was found in the NW coast of Crete.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqhuAnySPZ0

In ancient days only Kerala had the knowledge of astronomy and astrology.. The front dial has two concentric, circular scales that represent the path of the ecliptic through the heavens and only India knew of precession those days..

The outer ring is marked off with the days of the 365-days of the Indian calendar. .

On the inner ring, there is a second dial marked with the Vedic signs of the Zodiac and it is divided into degrees..The mechanism has a Rose wood casing with a front and a back door

TO CLAIM THAT THE INVENTION IS GREEK THE ROGUES HAVE KICKED BACK THE INSTRUMENT IN TIME TO 200 BC. IT IS FAR OLDER TO THE TIME WHEN THE WHITE MAN WAS DOING GRUNT GRUNT FOR LANGUAGE .

BY THIS TIME THE GREEKS WERE STUDYING ASTRONOMY IN KODUNGALLUR UNIVERSITY BELONGING TO THE CALICUT KING ( MY HOMETOWN ).

URANUS ( SHWETA ) , NEPTUNE ( SHYAMA ) AND PLUTO (TEEVRA ) WAS NOT USED IN KERALA ASTROLOGY –SAME WITH THIS INSTRUMENT.

THIS INSTRUMENT CANNOT BE MADE WITHOUT DEEP KNOWLEDGE OF CALCULUS.

      http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2016/12/108-numerical-equivalent-of-hindu-king.html

There are 54 gears inside this instrument in Shiva Shakti format –in consonance with the Hindu King Mantra 108—this instrument was meant to move perpetually .

JUST CHOOSE A DATE CONVENIENT--DONT BOTHER ABOUT THE MOON TOO MUCH

Chaulam samskara (chudakarna / mundan )should take ideally take place at the end of first year or before the expiry of the third year

The hair from birth is associated with undesirable traits from past lives-- you tonsure this to signify freedom from the past -- moving into the future.

The child must now forge the hinges of his destiny ( in this current birth ) on his own terms , free will and free choice.

Chudakarana is also a symbolic release of the child from his mother.

By the time the child must compulsorily stop breastfeeding. He must no longer be physically dependent on the mother.

A child before Chudkarana is buried ( has NOT developed individual ego ) , while after Chudakarana is cremated.

In Kerala we do it before the start of the 28th month.

The child's head is shaven and a single strand of hair is then symbolically offered to a holy river.

This ceremony is believed to mark the point in the child's life when the mother's influence is reduced, and the influence of the father becomes dominant. With the father's influence, the child's education is also believed to begin.

    LET THE PARENTING BEGIN !

In Sanatana Dharma the biological father has a HUGE responsibility in parenting unlike black communities where the child does NOT even know who the father is.

    http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2016/02/effective-parenting-indian-way-part-3.html

A muhurta and a suitable location (the temple, the home, or the banks of a river) are selected..

On the appointed day, the child is bathed and dressed in new clothes. The mother sits with the child to the west of the Agni homam. The father stands to the right of the mother and offers oblations to the fire. The cut hair is placed on a mound of humped vedic cow dung.

After the hair is shaved off, it is collected and mixed with cow dung and buried. This is done so that no one can use the hair in sorcery to harm the child using Atharva Veda vashikaran mantras .

After the ceremony is over, there is a feast . It is compulsory to feed a few poor people with good food.

If the mother is menstruating on that day, the ceremony should be postponed.

    यॆनावपत्सविता क्षुरॆण सॊमस्य राग्ञॊ वरुणस्य विद्वान् ।
    तॆनब्रह्माणॊ वपतॆदमस्यायुष्मान्जरदष्टिर्यथासदयं

Wetting the head for tonsure is mentioned in the all four Vedas.

WHY DOES 7000 YEAR OLD VEDAS, ALL FOUR, INSIST TO WET THE SCALP WITH LIVING WATER ( PREFERABLY FROM A HOLY RIVER ) BEFORE TONSURE ?

    2. Omg Captain,
The Japs are just bizarrely evil. This is so sick. Those beautiful Melanesian people are so simple like our earliest human ancestors. They do not know greed or materialism yet. How could anyone do this to them.
What kind of sick people do selective cannibalism. I sometimes doubt that if you actually said just how evil and sick people are simple Indian readers like me would retch for days.
Maybe it's a good thing we never get to know the real depth of human depravity.

    3. Btw Captain,
The writer James Jones on whose novel this movie is based is also quite a sensation in his own right.
His novel "From here to Eternity" has the same brilliance and unflinching realism. He mainly wrote about the Pacific war I think.
Must have been in active service during that time.

    Captain,

In the Soviet Union, during the November 7 Parade, they had HUGE Poster of Lenin and some Commie Slogans.

    So,

I got this idea from there.

India, when ruled by a genuine leader and Govt, should host two parades every year.

One parade in January ---- One in October.

Soviets had One in May 9 (Victory Day) and One in November (Bolshevik Revolution).

Why October parade for India ?

BECAUSE It is your birth date ! ---- October 2 Parade !

It can be branded as Rediscovery Day Celebrations (because you helped India rediscover itself)

AND, we should have Big poster of You (just like how Soviets had put of Lenin) !

A black & white version of your blogger profile picture (you in peaked cap) -----
    - just like how Lenin's is red and white.

This will be a Great Idea !

If India does not show any gratitude to you --- especially the genuine Leader and Govt ---- then it deserves all the filth it gets.

Gratitude is the most important thing ----- this is something all Indians must know and follow ------ we must be grateful to all such significant people in our lives.

    ==============================================================

WATCH THIS VIDEO OF THE SOVIET NATIONAL ANTHEM BEING PLAYED DURING THE NOVEMBER PARADE !

THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT ---- Posters, Amazing Music, etc.

  28. The silent killers of the indian patriots.

Who killed 198 nuclear scientists of india from 1995 to date ?

Ans : It is not a very tough question to answer. With a bit of analysis we can find the correct answer ,who is killing our nuclear scientists & engineers and why ?

First of all we have to think which country of the world does not like any other country to progress in nuclear science and research. The answer is US.

Why US does not like the other countries to progress in nuclear science? The answer is that US has used the nuclear bombs on Japan in the second world war. The use of atom bombs turned US into a winner from a big looser in the world war II . Now they think that by creating fear of their nuclear power( nuclear bombs, ICBMs and IRBMs ) and with the help of their huge money power they can rule over the world. In fact America's obsession of imperialism and dominating the world, is the main reason US stops other countries going nuclear at any cost.

How does US manages to stop the other countries from becoming a nuclear power? The techniques which US uses are. -- to find the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats in the country make progress in nuclear technoly , pay them and dictate them; then find the nuclear scientists and engineers working on the advanced nuclear projects ( which can elevate the country to become a nuclear power ) , pay them and dictate them; if US feels that the authorities in power and nuclear scientist/s and engineers of the targeted country are honest and patriotic to their nation, then final step is to kill them.

How does US manages to kill the patriots of the targeted nation involved in the development of their country ? This task is performed by CIA through the covert operation by using huge money power .

Killing of indian nuclear scientists ?

CIA solicits the corrupt indians to kill patriot. They pay huge amounts money to the killers and perform the task. Although CIA can manage to kill the targeted patriot by bullets, but , normally the they don't do so. They use many other methods and styles of killing. The killing process is kept highly secret and death looks like a natural death. This is done by giving slow poison/s to the targeted patriot which can cause heart blockage (followed by heart attack) or cancer. Also CIA manage to kill the targeted patriot by road accident/ fire accident or creating technical fault in the vehicle which the patriot use for conveyance or crash etc. etc. if one method of killing is failed , then CIA use the other method. In all cases the death will look like a natural death and case will be closed.

From where do CIA get funds to conduct the criminal covert operations?CIA gets huge funds from super rich multinational corporate fascists of US / imperials of US.

Why are CIA / US imperialists do such crimes ? The answer is their obsession to stop the progress of other countries, by making them corrupt , make the countries poor , dominate the other nations , dictate and inflict the terms of US' interest to loot their resources and rule them and as a result of this dominate United Nations.

CIA is the most criminal organisation of the world which is morally , culturally , traditionally and financially corrupt and the country United. States to which CIA belongs is a syndicate of organised crime .

It is a shame on indian leadership who are bowing to their kneel before such a criminal state. The most selfish and criminal US can never be a friend of any country. They are not at all worth befriending.

  32. Please don't mind me posting this question here.
I will be No.1 enemy of most Indian women for posting like this.
Why very less Indian women are dressing well so that their bare backs are covered with blouses well instead of leaving bare back with little or no cloth and tying doris of the blouse ?
Why so many women are going for sleeve less blouses and bare backs with sham called doris even though it may not look good for them?
Why young girls (teenagers) are being encouraged to wear tight Capris, Leggingings, tight churidar bottoms, tight tops such that their bodies are displayed ?
Who in India is behind this campaign of show more of your body Indian Teenage girls, Indian women for being empowered ?
Now in West some women are finding new clothes outlets to wear Modest Clothing
Certain Western media outlets express their outrage that some women are trying to put rules as to how much of women's skin should be bare etc
It seems that women should be comfortable in whatever they chose to wear and women/girls should not be commented regarding their way of wearing tight capris, leggings, tight tops etc.
Will Indian girls, teenagers, women ever realize that they should not copy dresses/ blouses etc of women leads in TV serials, movies etc ?
Sir, since we do not have any one who has the courage to write about this topic Please write a separate article how Indian girls, women wore dresses in the past years and how things changed like crazy ?

China knows this well and hence they will never attempt any misadventure. Tibet did not have a standing army in 1950. When Mao's hooligan troops kicked the meditation Lama's out, India was a mute spectator.

This will exponentially increase the amount of microwave radiation in our communities, creating an electromagnetic environment unlike anything humans have ever experienced.'

Our military GPS must be backed by by e Loran in the same set , so that if GPS is jammed an algorithm can swap over to eLoran seamlessly after sounding an audio and visual alarm...

A national enhanced Loran (eLoran) system provides uninterrupted positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services in the wake of GPS jamming.

Any RF device can be jammed or spoofed. . However, it is far easier to jam or spoof a very low-power signal, such as from GPS/ GNSS, than a very high-power signal, such as that from eLoran.

The Russians know how to send decoys along with real missiles, U.S. radars will be fooled, causing rocket-interceptors to be fired at the wrong objects

  73. *Message sent by a Sr Citizen to PM Mr Modi:*

Today i have posted the following on the facebook page of PM Mr. Narendra Modi and sent an email to FM Mr. Arun Jaitley. For information of all my friends.

Respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji,
Respected Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitely ji,
First of all I extend my sincere thanks in anticipation that you will spare a few minutes of your valuable time to read and take suitable action in the matter.
I am a senior citizen and on 01.08.2012, I put Rs 40 lakhs in a nationalized Bank for 5 years. I was being paid an amount of Rs. 35,352/- every month (of course subject to income tax) enabling me to lead a worry free life financially. Now on maturity I have reinvested the amount in the same Bank and I will be paid Rs. 26,489/-; a shortfall of Rs. 8863/- i.e. 25% over the previous return, per month. Can you please advise me from where I should make good the loss or sacrifice consumption of medicines or atta or dals or vegetables or fruit or milk or what?
Practically your government after taking over in 2014 has done nothing for senior citizens. No additional facilities extended but withdrawal of what existed in 2014. No commodity or provision item is available at the price of 2014. Yes you have been able to bring down the figures of inflation and indices but not the actual prices. Every off and on the prices of some essential daily use items go rocket high like dals, chana/besan, salt, onion and now the tomatoes. At that time we cannot even dare see those items.
I know you have political and the theoretical replies for these issues like interest on deposits and advances in banks depend on demand and supply. The prices of daily use items vary with seasons being agricultural products. But the straight upward shoot of prices cannot be justified by these reasons. If the government wants to provide cheaper credits to the trades and industries, it should not be at the cost of depositors. Banks are sitting over volcanoes of NPAs and all good money is being diverted for bad money.
But is it not the duty of the government to enable the senior citizens to lead a respectable life who have spent their golden years in serving various organizations and finally the nation? Government cannot see the other way. I am at a loss to understand from where this deficit of 25% be met. Is any of the minister/MP/MLA is ready to cut his salary and allowances by this percentage? If not, then why the public especially the senior citizens?
Perhaps it is because that, like you, we do not have the power to fix our own salaries, allowances and perqs and getting everything for full year, for sessions of total of 3 months and that too attending sessions at their sweet will. When the matter of increasing your salaries comes, you pass the same just in 2 minutes with no discussion, with all heads together be it from ruling or opposition benches. For this increase, you totally over look the cost to the exchequer, deficit, economics and any other factor.
The government had started a scheme for deposits of senior citizens and the rate was 9.20% but In July, 14 it was reduced to 8.3%; the amount limited to Rs 15 lakhs. This is totally unjustified. The rate should be a minimum of 12% and the amount limit should be equal to what a person gets as terminal benefits. The government should ensure financial respectability to the senior citizens to walk with their heads straight.
I am sure you will understand the plight of the people whose good part of expenses comes from the interest of their savings of life time.
Sorry if I have offended you in any way.
    Thanks and Regards

  74. The political murders in Kannur are retaliatory and continuing like a chain reaction. In most cases the victims are from lower middle class or daily wage earners like autorickshaw drivers or unorganized workers.

COUNTRY LIQUOR has no role since this is not the case of drunken brawl. The political murders are committed by mercenaries for money. The source of funding can even be traced to overseas terror networks like ISI or IS. Those with ANCIENT KALARI GENOME never does such barbaric acts even for self defense. This is similar to what is happening in Kashmir.

The escalation of violence is happening only because of the inadequate measures taken by Police and the partisan attitude of the government in power. The violence was less when Senkumar was the DGP. At that time, the CBI faced many problems while interrogating a CPM leader. This leader pretended to be sick and traveled in an ambulance from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram, visiting hospitals on the way.

The Governor P Sathasivam, the former CJI, had asked CM to initiate immediate steps to curb the cycle of violence. Hope CM listens to the Governor's advice

China is trying to increase pressure through our neighbors. Nepal is providing a means for Chinese and Pakistani intelligence agencies to fuel the insurgency in NE and red corridor. Before demonetization, many Chinese companies were engaged in printing and distributing fake notes. If Nepal strategically side with China, then India must seal the porous Nepal border. There should be thorough scrutiny of human and goods traffic.

The short sighted Nepal govt should realize that its land locked country cannot depend on China forever. In case of a war, the dragon will be chased and driven away from the Himalayas and provinces like Tibet, Xin Jiang, Balochistan and Uyghuristan will become free

  82. IMPORTANT--

    IMPORTANT--

    IMPORTANT---

Despite Typhoon Noru, 2017 is NOT yet an El Nino year. What is making Europe so warm ?

Nitrous oxide, a highly potent greenhouse gas is now being released from a warming Arctic

Nitrous oxide emissions have increased from Arctic peatlands following permafrost thaw- caused by Methane release.

If the GLOBAL WARMING POTENTIAL ( GWP ) is 1 for Carbon Dioxide, it is 302 for Nitrous oxide and 104 for Methane over a 20 year period.

PARIS COP21 KICKED METHANE AND NITROUS OXIDE UNDER THE KOSHER CARPET SO THAT THE JEWS CAN BLAME CO2 AS THE VILLAIN AND MAKE MONEY OUT OF THIN AIR ( CARBON CREDIT- OFFSET ).

AT THE G20 SUMMIT IN HAMBURG 2017- ALL WORLD LEADERS ( INCLUDING MODI ) WERE IN JEW ROTHSCHILDs POCKET EXCEPT DONALD TRUMP.

    http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2016/04/most-potent-greenhouse-gases-nitrous.html

WE ASK PM MODI—WHAT IS THE USE OF HAVING AN ICE STATION HEMADRI AT ARCTIC? HAVE THE SCIENTISTS GONE THERE TO HAVE BOOZE AND ENJOY ?

More than 70 billion tons of nitrogen stocks are stored in the upper 3.5 metres of permafrost soil, a vast sum accumulated over thousands of years through the nitrogen cycle

The permafrost stocks are more than 600 times larger than the annual nitrogen load added as GM fertiliser to soils globally

Some of that nitrogen already exists in the form of “old” nitrous oxide, built up during the permafrost formation, while other mineralized nitrogen interacts with microbes to produce “new” nitrous oxide.

Nitrous oxide that is released into the atmosphere remains in the troposphere for more than a century and then it migrates to the stratosphere, where it depletes the ozone layer. The ozone layer serves as a protective barrier absorbing solar radiation; without it the sun’s ultraviolet rays would severely damage biological organisms, including humans.

Although the Montreal Protocol, an international treaty signed in 1987 to protect the ozone layer, Nitrous oxide was ignored. The Zionist Jews concentrated on WEE ozone depleting items ( like refrigerants ) where they can make money out of thin air.

Loss of nitrogen to the atmosphere may also reduce plant biomass, further contributing to climate change.

If nitrogen is lost to the atmosphere, plant growth won't be able to compensate for carbon being lost from permafrost soils

The most alarming phenomenon in the Arctic is the loss of the highly reflective snow and ice cover, known as the albedo..

High nitrous oxide saturations were recently observed in productive shallow Arctic shelf waters following significant reduction in sea ice cover..

Nitrous oxide is produced in the ocean water column and sediments by two pathways. The first is in oxygen-rich conditions in which ammonium is converted to nitrate, creating nitrous oxide as a byproduct. The second occurs in deoxygenated sediments where nitrous oxide is produced in an intermediate stage between the conversion of nitrate to nitrogen gas.

The loss of sea ice cover in Arctic shelf waters has resulted in increased sunlight absorption, fueling phytoplankton growth. Following phytoplankton death, organic material is remineralized to ammonium, which can be converted to nitrate and ultimately produce nitrous oxide.

What happens in the Arctic doesn’t stay in the Arctic ( unlike the Cricket team dressing room politics )

Indians were the first to use BIOCHAR for agriculture . It converts agricultural waste into a soil enhancer that can hold carbon, boost food security, and increase soil biodiversity, and discourage deforestation. The process creates a fine-grained, highly porous charcoal that helps soils retain nutrients and water.

India was blessed with HUMUS laden topsoil with healthy microbes and earthworms for millions of years. Just 55 years of desh drohi GREEN REVOLUTION has decimated our holy topsoil.

90% of our lakes have disappeared.

WE WANT OUR NCERT TEXT BOOKS TO EXPOUND THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING HUMUS LADEN TOP SOIL AND BASICS ABOUT GRAOUND WATER .

Organic soil forms can be further divided into "recalcitrant carbon" or resistant to decay, like humus, and "labile carbon," where the carbon is both bioavailable (in the form of easily degraded compounds such as oils, sugars and alcohols) and physically accessible to microbes (not bound up with minerals).

The organic carbon pool includes both the living bodies and the dead, decomposing bodies of bacteria, fungi, insects and worms, along with plant debris and manure

Indian topsoil was 6 feet deep—unlike other nations of this planet having a few inches deep top soil.

Modern, chemically-based GM agriculture depletes soil carbon..

WHAT IS GOOD FOR ISRAEL IS NOT GOOD FOR INDIA— JEW DARLING PM MODI PLEASE NOTE. WE WONT ALLOW YOUR MANN KE TAMANNA “KOSHER COMPUTER COW” IN INDIA..

Soil building is the product of a self-reinforcing, positive feedback loop. But soil decline is also a self-reinforcing loop that can result in catastrophic soil loss.

Nitrogen fertilizers combined with tillage accelerate microbial respiration, burning up soil carbon faster than it is replaced. Due to the loss of organic carbon reservoirs, many soils have become nearly lifeless substrates that must be continually fed with irrigation water, mineral nutrients and pesticides to produce a crop. Although productive in the short term, this practice is not sustainable

The desh drohi GREEN REVOLUTION has caused our holy topsoil to lose 80% of their original soil organic carbon (SOC) pool.

WE DON’T WANT COMMIES AND WHITE JEWS TO DRIVE OUR EDUCATION

Biochar serves as an electron buffer for redox reactions and helps bacteria swap electrons among themselves, improving their metabolic efficiency as a microbial community.. With its pores and its electrical charges, biochar is capable of both aBsorption and aDsorption.. The surfaces of biochar, both internal and external, aDsorb materials by electro-chemical bonds, working like an electric sponge.

Biochar surfaces adsorb carbon and retain it in compounds with minerals, supporting at the same time a large microbial community that potentially makes more efficient use of organic debris containing carbon and other nutrients.
balanced compost, with the optimum C:N ratio, will contain lots of humus. However, if there is not enough stable carbon (from wood, straw or other lignin sources), then the easily degradable sugars, fats and proteins will be completely consumed by microbes leaving very little substrate behind

Both biochar and compost increases cation exchange capacity (CEC - the ability to hold onto and transfer nutrient cations: ammonium, calcium, magnesium, and potassium)…

They supports soil microbial life and biodiversity and helps plants resist diseases and pathogens. They add humus carbon to the soil carbon pool, reducing the atmospheric carbon pool—and increases soil water holding capacity. In coastal areas they help plants grow better in high salt situations.

Unlike biochar, compost is quickly broken down by microbial action in soil over months to at most, decades, depending primarily on climate. Biochar lasts at least ten times longer in most soils.. Biochar is effective at retaining nitrogen in soils and there is NO need for CHEMICAL UREA.

THIS IS THE ONLY INTELLIGENT WAY TO PREVENT FARMER SUICIDES.

      CONTINUED TO 3--

    2. CONTINUED FROM 2--

Adding biochar to compost reduced the amount of dissolved organic carbon (labile carbon) in mature compost while increasing the fraction of stable humic materials (stable carbon).

The desh drohi GREEN REVOLUTION has left us with a rapidly deteriorating climate, and soils that are dying and eroding. Biochar, as a form of recalcitrant carbon, is the medicine that DELIBERETELY degraded and unproductive Indian top soils need.

RECENTLY OUR LOSER LAWYER TURNED COLLEGIUM JUDGES ( BOTTOM DREGS OF THE SCHOOL CEREBRAL BARRE ) BANNED BURNING OF CROP STUBBLE ( WHICH PRODUCES BIOCHAR ) BECAUSE OF DELHI SMOG.

IF THIS IS THE CASE SHIFT THE CAPITAL OF INDIA TO A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO TEMPERATURE INVERSION..

Tall grasses burn quick and hot, however, close to the ground where the roots start, air is excluded so the base of the grasses will pyrolyze and not burn. This kind of natural charcoal is present in the most valuable agricultural soils in the world

  95. Arpan Patel has left a new comment on the post "Japanese in Hiroshima and Nagasaki substituted by ...":

    Ajityabhai,

I have heard that the end game for R is to host a New World Order in which he wants a utopian civilisation with one world currency. WWII and WWII were all part of his plan to carve out Israel. According to the following video his plan will now include a war (WWIII) on the Islamic religion with an end game of destroying religious values and religion in general so that he can "control" the world's currency. What is your thought on this?

    https://youtu.be/hP4bzXfb6Go

I personally think he is trying to use this war on terrorism to associate religion with terror and all things bad in this world. Once he convinces people that religion is bad, he is probably looking to end our religion as well as we are an obstacle to his end plan of world domination, after all to a man like R, religion is an obstacle for his New World Order. Plus he is not a real Orthodox Jew (Jew by birth). Rather his people are traced to Khazar people in the country of Georgia, where they chose to convert to Judaism to use the religion for world domination. These "converted" Khazar Jews were called Ashkenazi Jews, hence the name "Nazis" in WWII. These Ashkenazis put the Orthodox Jews through the holocaust. They have no morals, values, and religion. They are a direct threat to our religion and India.

    Any thoughts?

    IMPORTANT

BHARAT , THE SON OF SHAKUNTANA AND DUSHYANTA NEVER EXISTED.

ABOVE IS A FAKE AND BACKDATED CREATION OF JEW ROTHSCHILD

HOWEVER THERE IS A GREAT INDIAN HERO AND EMPEROR NAMED BHARAT ( 8165 BC ) --HE WAS THE SON OF RISHABHA

Rishabh was born to Merudevi, Bharat was born to Rishabh, Bharatvarsha was named from Bharat, and Sumati arose from Bharat. ( Vishnu Purana 2.1.31 )

AGAIN, THE LAND MASS OF BHARATA WAS NOT NAMED AFTER THE ELDEST SON OF EMPEROR RISHBHA ( THE FIRST THIRTHANKARA ) FROM WIFE SUMANGALA

RATHER THE SON OF RISHABHA (BHARAT ) WAS NAMED AFTER THE LANDMASS BHARATA

BHARAT IS THE KING-- BHARATA IS THE LANDMASS KNOWN AS INDIA TODAY

BHARATA IS DERIVED FROM BHA ( BHAVA ) RA ( RAGA ) TA ( TALA )

BHAVA is the emotion that creates a sense of enjoyment ( rasa )

    RAGA is the melody

TALA is a musical meter in time.

I have explained it in more detail -in the post below.

    http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2017/04/kathakali-dance-form-of-kerala-part-3.html

WE SAW THE MOVIE BAHUBALI AND WONDERED WHO HE IS , RIGHT?

WELL IN REAL LIFE HE WAS THE BROTHER OF BHARAT -THE ELDEST SON OF RISHABA AND WIFE SUNANDA

THERE WAS A TUSSLE BETWEEN BHARAT AND BAHUBALI AS TO WHO WOULD BE THE KING-- THOSE DAYS INDIA RULED THE WHOLE PLANET

Seeing mass destruction in war it was decided that there should be a single combat between Bharat and Bahubali . One who wins will be the only Chakravarti or "Emperor of Emperors".

In all the stages of battle Bharat had to face terrible defeat at the hands of his younger brother Bahubali in all these fights.

When a point came that Bahubali must give a lethal strike on his elder half brother Bharata, he raised his hand . He felt that his own sister Sundari and step sister Brahmi ( of script Brahmi Lipi fame ) were on the side of Bharata.

Instead of giving the final fatal blow, he suddenly uprooted a large tuft of hair from his own head instead, thus declaring himself as a monk, stunning all .

Bahubali “the would be Chakaravarti who chose to be a monk”, is revered by Hindus and Jains alike as an ideal man who conquers selfishness, jealousy, pride and anger.

Bahubali “the would be Chakaravarti who chose to be a monk”, is revered by Hindus and Jains alike as an ideal man who conquers selfishness, jealousy, pride and anger.

THE WORD "HINDU" REFERS TO THE DENIZEN OF LAND MASS BETWEEN HI-MALAYAS AND THE ROCK AT THE SOUTHER TIP OF INDIA BI--NDU.

ALSO KNOWN AS VIVEKANANDA ROCK -THIS IS A PLACE WHERE SHRADDH WAS DONE SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL --THE SPOT WHERE THREE SEAS MERGE ( INDIAN OCEAN / ARABIAN SEA/ BAY OF BENGAL )

HINDUISM IS THE MODERN ENGLISH NAME OF SANATANA DHARMA

THIS GREAT WAY OF LIFE ( NOT A RELIGION ) HAS A COSMIC FIELD GOD CALLED SHABDA BRAHMAN

Primal sound is referred to as Shabda Brahman - "God as word".

Our VEDAS are SRUTI --the word of god heard by seers , the 12 strand DNA maharishis in their trances

Closely related to this is the concept of Nada Brahman - "God as sound".

This Nada then gets consolidated into Shabda Brahman (differentiated sound energy), the universal cosmic resonance, symbolized by OM.

    OM IS 108 DIGITALLY .

    http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2016/12/108-numerical-equivalent-of-hindu-king.html

SHABDA BRAHMAN, THE CONSCIOUS TRANSCENDENTAL SOUND OF THE VEDAS
