    Every weekend in the Mumbai naval harbour u can see a fleet of naval ships sailing off with families of naval personnel for a picnic. This occurs every weekend. A few years back there was also an accident where two naval ships collided while returning back.

    The army guys are constantly in war either in kashmir or north east.
    The airforce is sometime or the other involved in rescue missions.

    But these naval guys have been enjoying peace time since 1971 at our expense.....They have become Chalta hai....

    They are not even patrolling our coasts properly....and of course no intelligence gathering....Otherwise who would Rascals like Kasab and his friends enter through the mumbai coast?

    There is a lot of smuggling and pilfering of cargo and diesel etc going on off Mumbai and the konkan coast. These guys collect hafta!!!!

    Every weekend in the Mumbai naval harbour u can see a fleet of naval ships sailing off with families of naval personnel for a picnic. This occurs every weekend. A few years back there was also an accident where two naval ships collided while returning back.

    The army guys are constantly in war either in kashmir or north east.
    The airforce is sometime or the other involved in rescue missions.

    But these naval guys have been enjoying peace time since 1971 at our expense.....They have become Chalta hai....

    They are not even patrolling our coasts properly....and of course no intelligence gathering....Otherwise who would Rascals like Kasab and his friends enter through the mumbai coast?

    There is a lot of smuggling and pilfering of cargo and diesel etc going on off Mumbai and the konkan coast. These guys collect hafta!!!!

    I AM A LIVING LEGEND AT SEA , BECAUSE MY SHIPS NEVER FAILED AN INSPECTION.

    THIS IS VERY HARD ON CHEMICAL TANKERS WHERE YOU HAVE MORE THAN 30 TANKS AND EVERY TANK GOES THROUGH WALL WASH TESTS.

    WHAT WAS THE REASON FOR MY UNIQUE SUCCESS?

    I HAD THE CAPABILITY TO ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSE.

    MY BRAIN WENT WHERE NO HUMAN BRAIN HAS EVER BEEN BEFORE-- AND MOST OF THE TIME IT WAS NOT EVEN MY FIELD OF EXPERTISE.

    long ago i had an emergency on my SCI ship ( 1983)

    a technical shore boss flew down to be on board-- he was a TOP HONCHO.

    he was my chief engineers batchmate ( both ENGINE ROOM ARTIFICERS or GLORIFIED FITTERS from indian navy -- they have practical knowledge but theory is ZERO )

    to cut a long story short--

    the chief engineer was screening a HIT hindi movie in the officers lounge with his new VCR with the shore boss and half my crew / officers there watching the movie -

    --dereliction of duty in an emergency!

    as soon as i entered the lounge all ran away --leaving behind chief engineer and his batchmate shore boss ( both RUSTIC punjabis with zilch class )

    i asked my chief engineer-- have you completed transferring bunkers the way i told you.

    he said --NOT YET

    i said-- AS LONG AS THE SHIP IS IN THIS PORT, YOUR SHORE LEAVE IS CUT , AS PUNISHMENT

    his batchmate boss comes to his defence-- CAPTAIN , YOU CANNOT CUT CHIEF ENGINEERs SHORE LEAVE ( both were planning to go ashore IKKATTA )

    i replied-- OH YEAH? -- NOW I WANT HIM TO GO ASHORE --I WONT PUNISH HIM -- I WILL PUNISH YOU .

    knowing how hard core i could be -- both slunk away with the VCR like beaten dogs

    THERE ARE TIMES A LEADER MUST SHOW STRENGTH

    MY OFFICERS AND CREW WHO RAN AWAY--WERE ALL LISTENING TO THIS SHOWDOWN FROM OUTSIDE PEEPING EVERY WHICH WAY, EVEN FROM PANTRY PORT

    THEY ALL KNEW WHO IS BOSS ON THE SHIP

    my chief officer was an incompetent CUNT

    i took charge after cargo discharge and did the repairs PERSONALLY.. no captain does this -- nor he has the competence.

    AS A CAPTAIN I COULD NOT GO TO ENGINE ROOM TO SABOTAGE , RIGHT?

    I RAISED THE ISSUE IN THE SHIPs SAFETY COMMITEE MEETING --AND THE STUPID SARDARJEE CHIEF ENGINEER STARTED FIGHTING WITH ME-- HE SAID MY FEARS ARE UNFOUNDED

    BASICALLY HE WAS TRYING TO KEEP HIS OWN CHAIR SAFE— AND HE DID NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND BASICS .

    I JOINED THE SHIP AT PANAMA CANAL

    THE WINCHES WERE STEAM--THE BOILERS WERE HUGE

    WHILE ENTERING THE CANAL THE WINCHES WENT PHUTTT AS BOILERS TRIPPED

    SOMEHOW I MANAGED BY GETTING ALL HANDS ON DECK TO PULL ROPES WITH SHEER MUSCLE POWER-- AND I ASKED THE PILOT NOT TO REPORT IT ( WHISKY ) AND CAUSE A DELAY

    IN SUCH SCENARIOS IF CAPTAIN PUTS PRESSURE ON HIS ENGINE STAFF--THEY BYPASS USUAL SAFETY PROCEDURES, TO SAVE THEIR OWN JOBS

    THE SHIP HAD COME OUT OF DRYDOCK ONLY A MONTH AGO, AND DURING BRIEFING AT THE US OFFICE , I FOUND THAT THE ATMOSPHERIC CONDENSER TUBES -- 900 OF THEM WERE RENEWED.

    THE BOILER WAS TRIPPING AS WATER MUST ENTER THE BOILER -- NOT STEAM

    WHEN YOU HAVE STEAM WINCHES THE " NARROW" INLET TUBES ON DECK OF A 900 FOOT LONG SHIP TAKES THE STEAM TO THE WINCHES --IT EXPANDS AFTER THE WORK IS DONE AND THE DEPLETED STEAM COMES BACK VIA A " WIDE " RETURN PIPE.

    IT S THEN CONDENSED TO WATER AND SEND BACK TO BOILER --AS A CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM

    HOWEVER IF THE STEAM IS USED TO HEAT CARGO INSIDE TANKS -- THE ENGINEERING IS REVERSE—

    HERE THE INLET STEAM TUBES ARE "WIDE" AND THE RETURN WATER TUBES ARE "NARROW" AFTER EXCHANGING HEAT-- WATER IS INSIDE THE RETURN TUBES GO BACK TO THE BOILER HOTWELL AND THEN INTO THE BOILER --AS A CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM

    I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY CUNT ENGINEER AT SEA UNDERSTANDING THIS SIMPLE CONCEPT

    EVERY SHIP I GO, I TELL THE SHORE OFFICE TO CHANGE THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE TECHNICAL MANUALS .
